While it is true that they broke the law by coming here without obtaining citizenship, a work visa, or a green card, there is really nothing we can do about it. Face it. We need them. How else could our food be so inexpensive? How else could our homes be built? How else could our hotel rooms be clean? America has always relied on a slave labor force to drive it's economy and we always will if we continue with our current economic model. When the first Europeans came to the Americas, they needed a cheap labor force and a larger population, so they brought over indentured servants with promises of a better life. When people realized that the Americas weren't quite as fun as they had been led to believe, they stopped coming, so slaves had to be brought over. This endeavor was quite successful until slavery was abolished after the Civil War. After the Civil War, industry turned to European immigrants for factories and Asian workers for railroads. Then came the migrant workers. And finally, the illegal immigrants from Mexico. They have a number of advantages over United States Workers in that they don't ask for as much pay and if they complain, you can deport them. Truly the perfect worker for a large corporation with no qualms about exploiting people. America has always had slaves, whether they be bonded by contract, by steel, by poverty, or by fear.
I want a team the will leave the poor hardworking aliens alone and put the boot to the credit card usery practices. they are robbing the middle class and grinding them into the dirt. so far I haven't heard either the reps or dems address this issue
the issue in my mind is a family heroically living within their tiny budget and something goes wrong (my house burned down for example). within a year I owed the ^&%! companies $30,000 so I could keep feeding my children.
I earned too much for food stamps, but the mortgage company took the check and gave me 1/2 to rebuild. I called for the 2nd half, and they said, 'not until you can prove you've compled the project - then we will send you your check.' All my income went into that, my car broke down, my dog got cancer, and I had to buy food. The insurance paid for all of us to stay in a hotel (three in a room for six months), but I had to spend the money first, them await reimbersement. All at 27% interest (after I couldn't make a payment it skyrocketed to that amound - it was originally 12%)!!
...and some of you are all worked up about people crossing the border working for a better life in this country, contributing to our economy (which according to the numbers I've seen exceeds what they use in health and education expenses). Have fun playing the all american raciest!!

There are legal ways to get amnesty, they are here illegaly. Pack them in a bus and send them back to mexico.
How exactly are we to round up millions of people and transport them into another nation? It's a fairly difficult thing to do.
