There ILLEGAL aliens, they should be carted back to where they came from.  They dont have any rights other then to not be beaten, not make money, and be deported.

It's sad that human beings can be thought of as 'illegal'.

Its sad that they get away with what they do as illegal aliens.

I dont care if hispanics get nervous when they see the law approaching...they should.
yes mark me down as discriminatory and proud to be american ..

Ok, you're marked down as discriminatory. Why are you proud of that?
I like your signature. Good advice.

i discriminate in that I dont do business with them, other than that I treat them like everyone else I ignore them ..and I am proud to be american

Police officials pledged to enforce the law fairly and to not stop and question individuals based on their racial or ethnic appearance, but many Hispanic residents said they feared they would be stopped without reason and deported for such violations as driving without a valid license or having a broken taillight.

"Already the rumors are starting," said Rene Cabrera, a legal resident from El Salvador who works at a market in Manassas. "My friend saw four patrol cars outside a shopping mall and ?thought it was a raid?. Instead of going to the store, he stayed in his car and drove away. I really worry this can create chaos."

Immigrant advocate groups, speaking at a community meeting Sunday in Woodbridge and on local Spanish-language radio stations, have been advising immigrants without legal papers to keep a low profile and obey all traffic rules. If stopped by police, the groups said, they should be polite and show some identification but otherwise remain silent until they can see a lawyer.

"We are telling people to drive perfectly, not to spit or jaywalk, and not to carry anything in a brown paper bag," said Nancy Lyhall, a volunteer with the local pro-immigrant group Mexicans Without Borders.

If anyone wants to argue about the failed immigration policy, then, fine. But the first post implied that even having a policy was racist, and hateful. While the second stereotyped anyone in the state of Virginia as racist. I don't agree.

If they are illegal aliens they should be deported.  They do not belong here.  I'm sick of them bitching where are our rights when they **** sneak across our border, rape our economy and jobs.

They are here illegally, so yes hunt them down like the law breakers they are.  Stick them in a bus and send them back to mexico.

I felt bad that I took a potshot like this.  I apologise to anyone I offended.

I like the discussions on this list, but I don't like it when someone strays from a rational discussion to spew emotional abuse.  I am really sorry.

I would like to ask a closely related question.  Taking the argument that the illegal immigrants are not okay, if only b/c they are breaking the law...

What's the consensus on plans that offer amnesty?

There are legal ways to get amnesty, they are here illegaly.  Pack them in a bus and send them back to mexico.

when the time comes that I can openly break the law then I will accept the illegals, until that time send them back, probably the most important thing here is not the damage they do to our individual counties, but that they are breaking our laws.wait till our guard and reserve troops come back from their deployments and find their jobs taken by illegals...and chimera I am not a racist...my discrimination is only a protest against the illegals...if I am stupid enough not to take their money .then that is my loss

it is the same as the problems you have in your country with the romos, indians and pakistanis

Being gay is not evil, I don't care what your religion says on the subject. You say homosexuality is a "sin" - that is essentially hate speech, but i'm not going to waste my time arguing about it.

the whole of St. Paul `s christianity is based on a white lie and more importantly the "vision" of a madman who did not know Jesus.(after all Paul or Saul as I prefer to call him,was a jew who was a roman citizen, who hated jews. thats why he was a bounty -hunter and tax collector) If you accept Jesus than you must know and understand the things he said ( read the banned books from the Nag Hammadi library) most importantly to love all and in order to gain Nirvana or heaven , to do service to all mankind.Jesus neither put down the gay person or the harlot , or the samaritan or the gentile and neither should we.

Sorry, this doesn't really answer my question.  Most of the US posters seem to be refering to Hispanics and Mexicans - I'm assuming they are economic migrants who are able to find low-paid work in the US - is that correct?

For the record most of the Indians and Pakistanis in Scotland, which is where I stay, came here a generation or so ago, they are here legally and integrated into our society.  I assume the other group you refer to are the Roma who have started coming here in reasonably large numbers and there are some difficulties and tensions associated with their presence.  However, these problems are a result of housing policy and differing attitudes towards work and education among other things.  I don't hear of people being condemned here because they are "illegals", which seems to be the case in the US - from what I'm hearing here.

Incidentally, there was a case in Scotland a year or so ago, when a young man was seized in a dawn raid because he didn't have permission to be here.  He had come here as a child with his family and they settled on a Scottish island.  When he was taken to be deported - to Thailand, I think - the community rallied round and protested against his detention and proposed deportation.  He was allowed to stay and welcomed back to the community which had taken him in as one of their own.

Dawn raids are extremely unpopular in Scotland and local communities have been known to gather together and prevent people being taken - for detention and deportation.  In addition, the churches here are opposed to people being treated in such inhumane ways, not only detention and deportation, but also the policy of destitution and refusal to let asylum seekers work.

This doesn't seem to be the case in the US and I just wondered what was at the root of the tensions - surely it's more than just these people's legal status...

the big problem other than they are taking up our resources, is their illegality itself..they flaunt it in our face...and besides that there are millions of them(over 50,000 in our county) but what do you expect from a government who gives away millions of tax dollars to people who do nothing..in this sentence i am not speaking of the illegals, but of our citizens who recieve welfare checks and contribute nothing to our society .

Before Paul was called by God he was a Jew who persecuted Christians and he was a tent-maker!  Smile

I don't accept jesus (not christian) but I will say that "thou shalt not lie with a man as with a woman for it is an abomination" seems fairly clear in how homophobic it is. Lev 18:22

Technically, this was god speaking to moses, so indeed - jesus isn't the one who said it. Sodom and other references come to mind. According to the bible, homosexuality is indeed sinful - thus why I consider christianity a homophobic religion, unless one practices selective ignorance when reading the bible which makes you guilty of hypocrisy.

agree...not christian here but follower of jesus ,john the baptist and the buddah
