After struggling in my chemistry class last semester, and in calculus and structural geology this semester, I finally changed my major.
Next semester, I will be transferring to Texas State University, in San Marcos, Texas--just south of Austin. I will be majoring in geography, with an emphasis on urban planning. I worked for nearly 5 years as a GIS technician, and I enjoyed it.
My current university doesn't offer such a program. In fact, Texas State is the only college in the whole state with an geography/urban planning program at the undergraduate level. There are other universities that offer graduate programs, and some that offer undergraduate degrees in geography with teaching emphases.
The next nearest university with a similar program is in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, about 150 miles northeast of New Orleans.

Besides, Urban Planning is a good field, particular if you emphasize sustainable development practices -- that's the future.
