Official diagnosis (1992): "Autistic Disorder with symptoms noted from age of less than 4 months." (my diagnosis was just for getting SSI, so we didn't go farther into specifics, but HFA/AS would be most accurate) and "Unspecified Mental Disorder, Nonpsychotic."

Asperger's, as far as I know (or "Asperger-type classical autism" in my classification - I tend to lump Asperger's, Autistic Disorder ("Kanner-type classical autism" in my classification), and almost all PDD-NOS into a single "classical autism" category, as opposed to Rett's Syndrome, Fragile X, and possibly CDD, which would be "autism" but not classical autism). I'm not sure if I actually have an "official" diagnosis as in one that is written down, but I have seen a psychiatrist, and she did say that I am "high-functioning autistic" and also mentioned Asperger's.

A lot of things have been suggested, but the official ones were Asperger's, depression, and ADD. Anxiety problems as well. All of those are probably related on some level. Oh, and Type 1 diabetes...what fun.

Officially diagnosed with Asperger's
and more recently officially diagnosed as allergic to:
* mercapto mix and mercaptobenzothiazole (rubber additives)
* cobalt
* nickel
How did you come across the new allergies diagnoses? I am specifically asking about the nickel, as I have heard that I possibly am allergic to it as well. Problems with jewelry and such.

I was originally self-diagnosed. However, the official diagnosis of Asperger came not soon thereafter. I also got an evaluation of OCD, and the possibility of "Avoidance." I dispute OCD (well, maybe I just don't like it). I also do not know what Avoidance is, to be honest, and welcome anyone with an understanding of it to comment on it.
"Diagnosis" is not a word that I like. However, I do believe in self-knowledge. I do need to understand how my life parallels those of the students with whom I work in so many respects. An official "diagnosis" has helped in this respect.
Not knowing was hard. Now that there is knowledge, I understand why I do some of the things I do. Thank you for the question, as it allowed me to share.
All the best.
