I don't think we need to worry about McCain residing in the white house - I assume its gonna be a dem.

Ditto.

I don't think it's worth leaving the US for. I still would rather be in the US or Canada if I had a choice. 4-8 years of Hillary, Obama or McCain can't completely destroy the country. Maybe it'll be like when Carter was in there. Heck he made it hard for me to like the US. The US need's a candidate with a spine, someone that can know what to do and do it properly. And obviously it's been that way in the past so maybe it can be that way today once we get past these people.

And to be quite honest I didn't dislike Huckabee. He's not as bad as people make him out to be. I mean being religious and committed to your beliefs isn't a reason to hate someone. Although I don't really know much else about him or his stance on aspies. Pardon me, conservative coming through.
Some or more clownish than others. But, eh, if I voted it would be for McCain, too.
Oh you guys think you've got it bad... haha check out politics in Puerto Rico.
anyhow in MY opinion WE'RE the idiots... we swallow everything those airheads say.
And then when we're stuck with them we realize Oh God what the heck did we do???
Politicians are all talk and precious little action... they only DO something so we dont boot them out the big front door and onto the shiny marble steps of the whitehouse...
here in PR we have a war of words between our former governor who crippled the country (he stole more than two million in federal and state money and damaged PR's credit plus he almost made the US gov. take away our Federal funding....with that funding we keep our hospitals and public schools open) AND the incompetent idiot of a governor we have now (who made us get FURTHER into debt by getting a huge money loan.)
Oh not to mention the drug cartel war we have with Colombia and Venezuela which the US gov turns a blind eye to... *the defenition of Politician is A person who fills his own pockets with ill gained money while emptying the pockets of another's hard earned money.
of course all this is MY opinion...what do I know .... *laughs*

Maybe some of America's ( and the world's) problems in the present have a lot to do with the American predilection for declaring war on others?

Huckabee is just as bad as people make him out to be and worse. He is a racist, homophobic, misogynistic, theocratic, anti-intellectual, delusional, raving lunatic.

Here is just one of many scary quotes by him:

Quote:
"I have opponents in this race who do not want to change the Constitution," Huckabee told a Michigan audience on Monday. "But I believe it's a lot easier to change the Constitution than it would be to change the word of the living god. And that's what we need to do -- to amend the Constitution so it's in God's standards rather than try to change God's standards so it lines up with some contemporary view."

He wants to amend the Constitution to make it more Biblical. I cannot imagine a scarier sentiment coming from a politician. He would be worse than Bush.

I don't see how that's a bad idea, considering how much the US is already declining in morality.

I agree, Marcia.  It was a bad move overthrowing the Prime Minister in 1953 and replacing him with the Shah.  Just to keep the oil companies happy becuase the Iranian PM wanted to nationalize the oil.  Very very very very very very bad move.  We could have invested in nuclear, solar, wind.... sure, a little more expensive than oil, but it was cheaper to interfere in the politics of a sovereign country Iran against the democratic wishes of the Iranian people.  (USA and democracy, right..... )

Still..... now here we are and we have terrorism.  It is regretful B3 (big bully Bush) is not in the mood to think renewables in a hurry over getting out of the Middle East in a hurry.  The sooner we are not their *** any more the better.

I hope the next President says
1.  I'm really sorry we thought it was a good idea to interfere in your democracy and human rights
2.  No, the United Nations says Israel has a right to exist, and we agree.  Go ahead with nuclear power but don't become one, because you will immediately become a nuclear target
3.  Please do not interfere with Iraq or sponsor terrorism, and we will not sponsor efforts to disrupt the workings of your own internal affairs either

We need someone to sit down and talk with him. Even though people say it doesn't work, it could, I mean Reagan talked to dictators, so did Kennedy. And then if they don't agree and try to attack Israel, then the US can get involved.

You cannot see why amending the Constitution to make it more Biblical is a bad thing? You truly cannot see how that is the worst possible thing that could be done to the people of this country? Amending the Constitution to make it more Biblical would make this nation into a Theocracy. Theocracies are one of the worst, if not the worst form of government ever to exist. The people of this nation cannot allow an American Theocracy to come into existence.

I'd have to say Communism is the worst form of government. And, to be quite honest I don't believe one president can truly change the fate of the American government.

John McCain was  misinformed when he made those statements about vaccines causing autism.I keep hearing people say "What Hillary said about autism..." but I cant find what her views are on it anywhere. What exactly did she say? Also what Obamas views are.Where can I find out what their view on autism is.Are they both curbies??

I don't think there's as much to worry about as some people think. The focus seems to be on help, so the dreaded "c" word (which was mentioned in the first paragraph) won't come into it. This is about research into the genetic link, and the big one - SUPPORT. I don't think any of us would argue with a better support network IRL would we?

Clinton’s plan would include a task force, that would include people from the autism community, that would be charged with identifying gaps in evidence-based biomedical research, behavioral treatments, and services for children and adults with autism.

Some of the resources on dieoff.com suggest with groundsoil and aquafer depletion we could only feed 200 of our 300 million people.

we can feed way more vegans than carnivoirs (8lbs grain = 1 lb beef), and the depletion of our resources would be slowed (not to mention the level of cruelty would be reduced.

Very true. Greenhouse gas emissions would also be reduced significantly by eliminating goats, sheep, cattle, and pigs. I do not doubt that someday that these sort of measures will become necessary if the population of the world continues to increase so that our resources will be preserved. I would miss the meat, milk, and eggs though. I quite like all of those products and I would certainly be reluctant to give them up. Hopefully lab grown meat, eggs, and milk will be perfected and I won't have to do without.

Why waigt for an emrgency situation

If people witnessed how these fellow beings suffered to stuff our voracious maws, there'd be a lot more vegans.  People prefer - always - to victumize others in psudo-ingnorance.

In defense of GuessWho proclivity for McDs, Temple Grandin shared that McDs not only buys meat solely from her slaughterhouse designs, but purchases from the 10% of the slaughterhouses that she personnally inspects.  In Dr. Temple's opinion, her design (stairway to heaven) regulary audited by her is, the most 'humane' way to murder others (animals in translation).

For those who consider it hyperbole for me to call the daily mass slaughter of our fellow creatures, "murder,"  consider that "dehumanization" is the first step toward any genocide.  there are bibilical descriptions to more modern Germany, Bosnia, Sudan, Rwanda, Turkey, etc.

There are many reasons to give up eating flesh: humane, health, environmental, spiritual, to name a few.

This whole world is outta wack ... when will all this godforsaken mess end??

but to do such harm to other species?

that is psychotic!

you are obviously going to continue to support this abuse

justified any way possible

(bet you didn't even view the video)

at least choose mcdonolds over burger king

avoid KFC at all costs

drop a meat meal once a week?  a month?  a year (please)?

there's delicious cruelty-free meals (I'll send you recipes)

i hope my passion didn't make you feel bad (a bit uncomfortable okay, but not bad)

I don't want to be cruel to you either

It is not psychotic, cruel or evil to eat meat.  Your "passion", as you put it, seems to me to be a perseverance, and an opinion I don't agree with.

The real human diet is a carnivorous one.  You might want to read some of Owsley "Bear" Stanley's writings.
