Spent most of yesterday listening to a shedload of 90s songs including:

Real McCoy: Love & Devotion
Eiffel 65: Silicon World
Haddaway: I Miss You
Culture Beat: Anything

Compare that to the crap we have now - Rhianna, Britney and Basshunter spring to mind - and the 90s were almost as good as the 80s!
Day the 90s is classic is the day I grow wings and fly off to Mars.

Nothing beats a bit of Joy Division ;p Bach...Focus..Wagner.. :p
I Love The 90s.......  VH1
To me, the 90's is synonymous with the Major labels coopting the Seattle music scene, as well as a very large part of the 80's Punk and Rap underground scenes, and well as the reinvention of Disco under the moniker of 'Electronica'.

That being said, the 90's were much like the 70's and 80's in that the decade also had a great number of excellent releases that remained completely unacessible to mainstream musical tastes, a small sampling of these bands being:

The Boredoms
Vagtazo Halottkemek (existed as an underground, unofficial band since 1974 until the fall of Hungarian Communism in 1989)
Zeni Geva
Bardo Pond
The Azusa Plain
Arabonradar
Caspar Brotzmann
Asian Dub Foundation
Atari Teenage Riot
Cerberus Shoal
Dalek
Sleep
Guitar Wolf
Earth
The Melvins
Life After Life
Turbonegro
New Kingdom
Shellac
The Brian Jonestown Massacre
Godspeed You Black Emperor
Pigface

Couldn't resist... *grins*
My alltime favorite 90s band is Pavement (they had a hit in 1994 called "Cut Your Hair"). Yesterday I was listening to the Wallflowers because Jakob Dylan sounds similar to Bob Dylan but slightly better.

My iPod is mostly full of 90s music.
I've mentioned 90s music in my entries on pages 16, 23, 27, 28, 30, 35, 42, 62 and 65 of the "What are you listening to?" thread so far.
Did you have a great birthday Aeolienne?
Yes thanks. Among my presents I received some more CDs which no doubt will get featured on the "What are you listening to?" thread in due course (in fact one already has on page 63...)
