Can't they realize that autistics are not the problem?!? I think neurotypicals are. "Pervasive developmental disorders" is code for "we are too ignorant to have this job in health studying, but we don't like to admit it".

Have you noticed how all those ridiculus ADD/ADHD "medications" each have an enormous amount of side effects? Have you also noticed how many pro-autism cure groups are out there? And how about how much covering this has gotten on the news? It's basically a scam to get people who have autistic (and/or similar orders) children to waste their valuable time and money on stuff so the ignorant people can earn more money and expand their ignorant ways farther! Everything fits together like a puzzle now!

Remember this topic?

It's proof of the fact that pro-cure is all about money.

What else could "Be a big benefactor. Buy the beautiful bracelet." mean other than "Be ignorant. Buy this beautiful expensive bracelet from us so we earn more money to try to wreck autistic children's minds."?[/url]

When will people stop equating problems autistics CAN HAVE to "All those evil NTs say Autistics are THE PROBLEM".

Nobody said or wrote that there.

Sorry to say but all autistics have problems. Just like all NTs have problems, just different ones

If you are not very good at doing X, then that doesn't mean YOU are not good. People saying that autistics can have specific difficulties is not the same as saying "Autistics are the problem".

If I have difficulty in moving my legs, I HAVE that difficulty, but I AM not the difficulty. A difficulty can be a problem, but why do you insist that pointing out that someone isn't a saintly perfect being (doesn't exist!) means the person automatically is bad or invalid?

ALL people have strengths and weaknesses, ours just tend to be different to those of NTs. Having a problem or difficulty doesn't mean the person is automatically "bad". People can say "You seem to find this [a subject in school etc.] hard" but that does not mean they are saying "You are a problem I want to kill you, you are not worthy, you need to be killed".

Having a weakness doesn't mean being bad, and when people say YOU have a weakness, or they say AUTISTICS have certain problems, they are NOT saying the autistic person is invalid etc. The only person who believes that is YOU if you equate having a problem with being worthless.

It really pisses me off when people talk like people with autism don't have difficulties. Go live the life of some of us and you won't be writing that kind of rubbish any more

Noetic I would like to point out that Mich is 12 and is one of our youngest members of the forum.
Mich has some strong ideas and views, and has her own clear opinions on some matters. Each of us has our life experience that we draw from in order to make conclusions, and someone younger will still be developing in that area.
I find that my difficulties comploment my advantages (I belive the same for NT). The deaf often uses this idea, and I think that it can be used for anyone.

Definitely. Some Aspies need reminding that, like everyone else, they are not perfect. The same goes for some NTs. I do like the deaf community as an example, although I also think that there is a bit too much separatism going on.

Just hiding away and pretending the rest of the world (who CAN hear) doesn't exist does NOT seem a very sensible way to go about this either.
