Has anyone seen the full page newspaper ad from NAS?
I don't have it with me and can't scan it because my PC at home died, but it was *such* a contrast to the ransom notes campaign.
It was along the lines of adults have autism too and they can be isolated blah blah blah.
While it was a bit of a negative portrayal, it was more realistic about the problems some people face, it wasn't sensationalising it, it was just highlighting very real problems autistics can face.
Thankfully, it wasn't using the NYU shock and scare tactics, you *must* do this or you will spend your life held miserably captive.
Comparing the two recent ad campaigns, the NYU Child Study Center ad seemed to offer a lesson in how *not* to do it, whereas the NAS one seems to offer a lesson in *this* is more like it!
