Okay, nothing is settled yet, but there's a possibility that a programme may be forthcoming about autistic self-advocacy, framed against the dispute about 'Who speaks for autistics?' - is it medical professionals? Is it parents? Is it autistics? And can HFAs speak on behalf of LFAs? And so on.
The thing is, for such a programme to be possible, it would need someone or some people who are willing to be filmed to express their views.
Given the communication difficulties, I appreciate this prospect might seem daunting or even overwhelming to some Aspies and Autistics, but if there is anyone who might be willing to be filmed for a programme made by a household name international news broadcaster as part of a strand of documentary/features programmes, then please can you let me know?
There might be general background type filming or there may be the possibility of a studio discussion, so if you're willing to do either/or, please post here or PM me.
Cheers
Lulu
p.s. Amy/Gareth, is this okay? Don't know if this request breaches any forum guidelines? And the same goes for you both as well, are you interested?
Hi Lulu,
I can't be filmed (I'm a minor, no diagnosis, not in your locale- so many reasons. ;p ), but I'd love to be involved in some other way if that's possible. I could write something for you (either an idea for a show or a response to a question you need answered or whatever) and I might, possibly be able to film something local for you if I could find a way to send it to you- but that would hinge on me not getting caught by my parents.
Even if I can't help out somehow, I hope this goes well for you. A show like this could be so helpful to the world! Best of luck!
I wouldn't mind be flimed at all, it might be difficult because I live in Canada, and am only 17, but hey if there's a chance PM with the details.

as an adult aspie I would be interested in contributing in any way that I can
If the broadcaster has a team in Israel (and I believe they do) than I'll be happy to speak to them.
People like me and Luai_Lashire might give input on how the debates goes on at the web.

I also am trying to start an educational learning resource at Wikiversity which would aim to educate people on all the most important aspects of the Neurodiversity movement and it's opponents, so if you'd like to talk to me about that, I can. I might actually be able to record my voice for you, too, but like I said, I can't appear on film.
Is this for the "loving lampposts" thing, or for something else?

It's for something else.
It's an international news broadcaster, a 24 hour news channel, but there are features programmes in the 'back half hour', i.e. we have some hour long news bulletins, but some are only 30 minutes, from the top of the hour till half past, and then in the 'back half hour', i.e. from XX:35 (after the headline recap) to XX:57 (programme ends for the weather) there are features programmes. Some socio-political, some entertainment, some documentary, and so on.
Don't really want to give more details (because I work for them and I'm not really 'out' at work). Will PM you.
The programme is actually based in London, but the programme content is sometimes filmed from various parts of the world, depends on the subject matter and where it's an issue.
Your location isn't necessarily an obstacle, producers and camera operators can be commissioned to film locally, there are television studios (not necessarily ours) all around the world, and satellite links can be booked...
I would be interested and am in UK

In that case, I'd be happy to be involved, too...
