I have sparked a new idea.  What would happen if some aspies collided with some Persians?  The title is called Aspies vs. Persians as a tribute to Alien vs. Predator.

Let me know if this is a ridiculous idea, as it could be a parody, and my antics with 300 could possibly be replaced with this.

(I am the Persiaspie!  Tongue)
Boys!! How could you?

Tigger, I don't mean Persian cats.

It could be a spin off of my 300 antics, as some aspies may fight the Persian Empire, or we could modernize it and make the aspies fight Persians, but not the cats.

Well, it would put my sister in a VERY awkward position, seeing as she is related to a whole lot of both. Most of her birth family are Aspies, and she is married to a Persian - so, whose side would she be on, eh? Tell me THAT! Tongue

And I am an Aspie and I like Persians - would I have to give up my new friends?

Post number 540

(btw, although all of the above is true, I am writing it in the spririt of a JOKE, lads! I am not seriously arguing! I know it is all fun!)

Remember, it is my little joke.  I am mashing up AvP with 300.
Remember that the Persians were very advanced for their time.  Nebu-what's-his-name takes the Jews off to Babylon (Iraq), the Persians under Cyrus the Great take Babylon, Cyrus tells the Jews, go home, worship your God.  Later there is Mordecai and Esther and Nehemiah and Ezra and all are treated kindly by the Persians- the Iranians we call them, until Alexander the Great marches through.

Eventually, one Judas of Macabee kills one Hellenistic king who commits blasphemy by exalting himself as God and there is a temporary period of self-rule.
I thought I had a Persian cat, it was a domestic longhair, grey, Caesar.
There hasn't been a persian empire for a long time, where persia was, modern day iraq is now, and of late, the english and americans have been making a hell of a mess-o-potamia Tongue

Persia is Iran, not Iraq.

Thought it was Turkey

Actually, Iran to be more exact, pssvr.

Get your facts right, I am Iranian American myself, or a Persiaspie!

Ooh, so is my brother-in-law! An Iranian American, that is - I'm not sure about Aspie, though!

"Persia" has at one point stretched from Egypt to India.

Although the major part of it originated in the Middle East (Iran / Iraq sort of area.)

la la la...

Anyway, as an idea -- that is just about bizarre enough to be intriguing.
Quesswho, aka Chris, Alex. the Great intrigues me. I mean blonde hair and blue eyes back then, there?

Indians in India originally from Iran are called "Iranis".

Was reading a book about Iran's soccer team some years ago when they had a championship game (international), forget who they played, but the Iranian women came even though they were told they had to watch at home on their tvs. YOU CAN'T KEEP A GOOD SOCCER FAN AWAY BY GOD NO MATTER WHAT YOUR SILLY RULES! Big Grin

The celebrating went on for days (they won).

My brother taught Iranian air force pilots English just before the Shah was exiled back in the 70's. He was paid very handsomely.  He had to leave asap!

Wasn't Hafiz, the great mystic and poet, from Iran? He is wonderful, incredible, he was veiled, a saint. His stuff is perfectly modern actually 'cause of his humor and insights. Love Hafiz. Rumi is good too (Iranian also?).

Will the youth of Iran save that country?
Just logically the Persian army from 300 would beat us silly.
