I'm not *entirely* sure what Finding Dulcinea is supposed to be, but it seems to e essentially a place that locates good web sources about a topic and puts them together into a comprehensive guide to the topic. I searched for autism there to see what their guide for it looked like. They do take a parenting approach, mention cures, link to some not-so-great sites, but CAN and Autism Speaks are no where to be seen, they link to CDC sites that debunk the Mercury theory, and they link to several of the most important Neurodiversity sites, including neurodiversity.com, AFF, Joel Smith's "Nt's Are Weird" blog, and more. So on the whole, I think it's a pretty excellent guide and I'd probably recommend people there for more information.

Sounds good! I hope some parents of newly dx'd kids see this and get some positively useful information, rather than propaganda meant to scare donaters and politicians to bend to their will.

I think that
http://autism.about.com is great too. Lisa Jo Rudy seem to be able to keep neutral on the controversies.

Thank you for the nice review of findingDulcinea's Web Guide to Autism. We do indeed, as you wrote, seek to compile credible and comprehensive sources of online information about any topic, obviating the need to wade through search results strewn with misleading or inaccurate Web sites. Unlike other human-powered directories, we also write a narrative that provides additional context and insight. A findingDulcinea Web Guide is a much better place to begin your online research than a search engine. We appreciate feedback, and would love to know which sites in our Autism Web Guide you believe are not worthy of inclusion. Please send us a note at info@dulcineamedia.com.

Neutrality. Cool. Altogether too little of that around nowadays.

I get a page which is blank except for the headlines and flashy adverts. Is that normal?

No, that's thankfully not normal, but it does happen from time to time, and could be caused by trouble anywhere along the way as our Web page gets delivered from our servers to your browser. The Web servers on which sites are hosted occasionally go down for a minute or two, as do Internet connections, ISPs, and even browsers sometimes become choked with information and simply need to be closed and re-opened.
As for the comment on neutrality, that absolutely is our aim. We seek to bring our users the best information on the topic they are researching. If we find information that is disputed, we do our best to present both sides of the picture.
Thank you for the info. Without it I would have given up, blaming my browser (again!).
I have just taken a look. Your site looks really good, and packed with info. I've bookmarked it!
