Thank goodness - I can't believe they found a problem with it - silly really.   Lawyers will be lawyers I guess....
Awesome, I'm so glad to hear it's worked out alright. Smile
Darn. I never got to see it, and now it's down. LOL.

It's stupid though that Autism Speaks now owns it. Did you tell them about the fair use laws? If the process was already agreed upon (by your parents) it can't be reversed because it is a contract. HOWEVER, if your parents never had any contact with the Autism Speaks people over this situation and never agreed to anything, you could still get ownership back. Legally, minors can't sign contracts, on paper or verbally.
It's over, in any case.

And Zyggy, I don't think that the Brotherhood of Nod solution is the best solution in this case... Rolleyes
AFF isn't the most pro-brotherhood place around, though. Peace through power isn't a policy that most members proscribe to...
Um, off the top of my head, I'm going to say that's a no... Big Grin
You all make me proud to be an Aspie... *HUGS*
LMAO... oh I wish I'd seen it Sad

M, I am inclined to believe it would, although I am no expert on law, particularly foreign law.

Parody is protected AFAIK under one of the american constitutional amendments, that does not stop people TRYING to force people to cease and desist, BUT, it stops them from being able to actually do anything about it legally, the intimidation tactics used against Abscout carried no legal force, at least, that is my understanding of the situation.

So, basically, thirty lawyers were bullying a fourteen-year-old.

you're forgetting the important word Tigger

they were bullying a fourteen year old ILLEGALLY

Good on Abscout!!!!!!!! *claps*

Do you think all people who have brain disorders are better qualified to assess the best course of action than those who do not have brain disorders? People who do not have brain disorders disagree with you. Please accept the help that is available to you.

Only a NT with their over developed social brain disorder could be so patronising.

Sorry erkolos, its the third reply on the AutismSpeaks quote that EvilZ put up.

The author in question also has to realise that by saying such unkind things on his reply and in his other writings, he is hardly selling NeuroTypicality to us!

I don't want to be 'cured' or 'helped' in the way that he thinks people like me should - especially if there is even the remotest chance I could end up being even a little bit as intolerant as him.

He's a patronising little git who probably thinks we all sit banging our heads off walls, hoping for the day we really give a toss about colour co-ordination.

So pleased to see New Scientist putting in a balanced view on this.  I can understand some parents being exhausted and some people with autism really wanting a cure, but so very often this whole thing is given a very negative write-up.  It's about time people realised we're people, not "a disability".

I thought John Best opposed Autism Speaks, at least he makes the forum look like something very not serious.
