you could also reveal that a hacker from their site hacked your website which of course is against Data protection laws
hope this helps

Well you know that Autism Speaks needs to spend their donation money anyway they can. (usually not helping people or families with autism).
Usually an organization would send a warning letter and asking someone to stop using their copyrighted materials and say they would be contacting their lawyers if it did not stop. That saves a huge amount of money. Laywers cost $$$$ per hour and thirty of them, even more.
What a load of ***** this whole thread is. I wonder if people could all make up their own t-shirts with NTspeaks on them (using their own iron-on transfers and no selling of them) what they could do. Even making homemade signs and protesting. I could see some organization getting upset at someone making money off counterfeits using their logos -- but this is really stupid. They suck.
I can't read the whole article on New Scientist unless I subscribe. Did they quote some of us?
These comments about her parents not being responsible of abscout's actions on the internet provokes me - shouldn't teenagers be allowed to make parody sites?
Some of this may already have been brought up, but if you cannot win using a parody argument, then consider this:
The amount that can be awarded under copyright infringement should be limited to measurable damages, as in what you earned that they might have earned, on the assumption that donors were confused. Note that we are talking about confused donors ONLY, not ones who read your site, understand that it is not the Austism Speaks site, and based on what they have learned choose not to donate. So, I would start building your case on the facts, profiling who your hits represent, how they got there, and their reasons for being there. That SHOULD adequately distinguish you from the situations damages could be awarded for.
Not that I am a lawyer or anything; this is just what I have learned over the years.
Old thread. Personally, if autism speaks do try to actually sue (they actually just used intimidation to get control of the domain name) they'll find someone (me) who's willing to help out in abscout's legal defence. I've also practically dared them to sue for ntspeaks.com and .net, they've been intelligent thus far.
