I had talked to someone today about the work related issues I am having. This was a person I had met a while back and got reacquainted with recently. He had said that I present as ultra innocent/unaware of things as well as androgynous. I trust this person's judgment to help me work on issues so I can go after what I want. I told him how I felt noone took me too seriously. It wasn't my imagination. I have a shot at a teacher's aid position at this school where I am currently interning at as a helper. I'm not really into the skirt and pantyhose schtick but my friend said it might be of help. That's where the androgynous thing comes in. I am more of a pants person. I do however wear eye makeup. Friend also said I needed to learn body language. How to read it and how to use it. That is completely Greek to me. I am also lost on the games that women play at work by acting coy and helpless. Just venting.............
Well, there is nothing wrong with being a tomboy for a start- where is the rule they you have to wears dresses and skirts and loads of makeup? And why should you act all pathetic to get things at work when there are much better ways of dealing with situations?
I know what you mean about the innocent thing- it could be because you're quiet. Are you? Becasue if so you will find some people taking it to mean you have the mental age of a three year old. This morning when I went to ask my teacher something at the end of sex ed she asked me if the lessons were upsetting me! What made her think of that idea I dont know- but a lot of people will automatically associate quiet with immature, despite the fact that in most cases it's not true at all.

Well in this particular situation, dresses and the whole nine yards would be a plus...............I have decided to walk away at the end of the school year. I don't want to play the games. I know they think what they do about me. I'm just done with it. I have a college education and lots of work experience and skills. Time to just move on. Find the environment which fits a person who is quiet and doesn't waste time shooting the shit.
Well sometimes in life, you got to switch plans.....................I don't to be one of those people who stays in a crappy situation and complains about it but does nothing to change it. I know sometimes a person can't change it and that is understandable. In this case, I do have choices.
