I feel that normal ordinary people and the sociaty is boring and strict. There are rules in fitting into sociaty, but I feel that there are people that don't want to fit in. I fit in because I have to. But there are nonconformists out there and I find those kind of people very interesting and original. I have an Aspie friend who's a nonconformist. I was wondering if there was anyone else?

Nonconformity for the win!
in good time....must find my camera first...
bah, wrong button.

not mcuh, but you cant see the detail in those pictures, and the effect is greater than the sum of its parts.there are also spikes on the opposite shoulder to the armband, and this is around the topof the opposite shoulder to that;

and just below that, although it often ends up on the lapel too, is this;

which i think you'll recognize Big Grin

there is also a little Nightmare before Christmas coffin hanging from the loops for the waist strap on the coat.
I'm sorry, that last emblem / pin is too blurry for me to make out.
Google tells me MCR could be My Chemical Romance.  Eh.  I'm too old for that stuff anymore.

Is this something that you wear on a normal basis?  Most definitely not boring.  (how do you avoid the Jocks?)

Back in the day, before I got me a job and all that, I'd always dreamed of wearing some kind of paramilitary gear like that; but I figured I'd never be able to handle the extra attention it would give me... around these parts, that extra attention sort of includes being stuffed into lockers and being sucker punched at any opportunity.

I still dream of armor plating my car / truck and mounting machine guns and lasers on it.  Computer system, touch screens, zombie tracking system, etc.  Maybe I could mount a couple of launch tubes and use model rocket engines... ooohhh, that's an idea.  I probably shouldn't post that one Smile
the last pin should be recognised by wfM and her family - its a symbol from the Zelda games.
and the armband is My Chemical Romance, and the older one too; very hard to get hold of now Wink

how do i avoid the jocks? simple we dont have them. we do have chavs, and for them?

never back down, always fight dirty. i have 50 spikes on my left arm, fer christ sake.

and yeah, thats my normal wear...whats underneath it varies, from plain black trousers to spiked ones, plain shirts to band tees. but thats the first thing you'd see. and I am told the impression is quite striking.

I will admit it does affect how i interact with the people around me in town, but as a general rule, people are less likely to waffle in shops; i can go in, get what i want and get out without unnecessary talking.

also, what the hell was paramilitary there?
I would like to dress in a nonconformist way but my parents would forbid me to go out of the house wearing it. I would like to dress up like a greaser. Wink
oh, i feel silly, i said WfM when i mean Tigger =X

dressing like that does attract some heckling, but...it also tends to attract the "oddballs" to talk to you. which is a happy thing. the heckling is quite funny sometimes though!
ah, i see. i associate paramilitary with...well, DPM and fatigues...

chavs are....scum..uh..violent, usually unemployed, drinks a lot and so on.

It attracts often the type of people whom you would want to spend time with in my opinion.

exactly. whilst most of the chavs will run a mile, the "nerds" and the people who are actually intelligent and interesting dont normally give a damn. and some will actually be more inclined to talk to you.

High School Sucked for me. Bunch of perverted Jocks and wise-a**es. That's why I made a public access television special called "Teenagers are Stupid". Even to this day, I mock the idiots that I remember from High School.

Here's some clips of what I'm talking about.

I hope this helps for the people who are still in or still angry with High School life.

well, as i have stated elsewhere, my aspieness is one of the first things i mention to someone, and most people run a mile; usually only the interesting people will shrug and go "so what?"

I'm probably the opposite - I was diagnosed fairly young (15), and it probably allowed me to avoid conformity, rather than embrace it.

i would assume fairly young was supposed to mean around 5 when you are too young to make your own decisions, i was diagnosed at 15 and i see that as old but thats because i'm now 16. By old i do not mean really old because obviously 15 is really young if you're 60. But at the age of 15 you have formed most of your own opinions on the world and know yourself quite well. If i had learnt about it a bit earlier say around 11 i would of tried to conform a lot less, although my attempts were so crap it looked liked i didn't conform and i found it hard to think about situations till after they happened.

Yes Pikajedi, love those bracers, I did have some like that, but I think the cops took them, along with my better of two spiked collars.
Thats more or less sort of my style too, although I usually wear spike strips over the back of my hands and knuckles.

Are those Newrock boots man? they sure look like em, I got a pair myself, 180 quid, knee length, but the damn zip broke on one and I haven't had it repaired yet :/  The steel plates on the toes do a bang up job on chavs too Big Grin

Where you from?

they are indeed new rocks, and i am from the south east of england :p  near Rye and Battle, if you know it. near brighton if you dont :p

I cant help but feel we have had this conversation before :p
Sometimes I feel that allot of people would laugh at an adult that has  a strong imagionation. Not me. When I think of the Manga mini-series FLCL (a.k.a. Fooly Cooly), I think of Takkun's quote "Nothing amazing happens here, everything is ordinary." or "It's like there's nothing belond this little town, there is no world outside. It's like a lifetime of dying slowly." Allot of times, I can totally relate to that. It's kind of hard for a guy like me that still lives with his parents and has no car to venture out to see what's out there. I find myself always wondering that. What's out there for me. Who's out there for me. Sometimes my wondering can get the best of me and it turns into anxety. A feeling that I really need to get out of the house and get away from everyone and everything. That's probably why I take walks. There's not really anything that's worth checking out where I'm at but at least I'm outside by myself away from chores, parents, work, everything for about 2 hours or so.
