I think some people resort to insults when they dislike different opinions - it's probably not actually about you...
It's kind of sad, but it happens.
As far as "Wrong Planet" goes, I think it serves a valuable function - it's for people who want to be able to socialise without any boundaries.
Here it's different - I think that having the political aspect of the site as a central focus makes this a much more close-knit community. I'm also aware that this type of community doesn't suit all autistic people, and that's where Wrong Planet comes in handy.

the problem with WP is it is chaotic. there are too many people, posting too much crap, too fast. the mods and admins cant keep up, and a lot of people there are bitter. bitter people argue. sometimes, innocents get caught in the crossfire. and WP has stated that they do not stand alongside us, as regards the rights movement.
As much as I like AFF, I often feel like I am too stupid to contribute to some topics and I'm scared I'll embarrass myself.
I certainly like reading all your posts aliengirl. I think you offer lots of valuable insights. I am sorry that people were insensitive to you at WP.
I often feel quite 'stupid' online and off actually. It used to take me a long time to write any posts, and gather courage to press that wee send button. Now I find it a bit easier. Most people here are very friendly and accepting, I find.
I have been to WP-it certainly is a big planet! I don't mind visiting there occasionally but I do prefer 'home' 
aliengirl, I enjoy your perspectives and find them quite intelligent whether you personally "feel" that way or not.
You did nothing to merit the treatment you received. It wasn't you, but the other person. And it may not have even been about you -- maybe they were just having a bad day and decided to pick on a stranger. It is unfortunate, but it happens.
You've received a lot of good advice on this thread, but maybe the most important is to think carefully before letting one person you don't really even know push you away from something that you usually enjoy. If there had been some sort of "pile on" where the whole forum jumped on you I could understand you wanting to leave, but maybe you don't want to give just one person that kind of power in your life.
Whatever you do, don't leave AFF -- this is where I hang out the most.

Untrue. Whoever told you that is just trying to stir up trouble. I've helped Amy and Gareth in the past and they've done the same for me.

Seriously it is quite clear Alex has done WP for his own monetary and political/ego stroking gain.
- He shoves adds like mad onto the website
- He asks for money
- He quiets anyone who disagrees with him on the site
- When anyone disagrees with him he uses the fact that he has hung out with presidents and been writen about in magazines as an excuse for quieting people who disagree with him
have you considered the fact that a forum with high traffic like WP requires substantial upkeep for the bandwidth bills?

Some people have an uncurable mental disease, called NT.
It causes them to be sometimes extremly unlogic and enjoy to use words like "suffering from" for all all kinds of other words, like "have"Â Â or "be" or what ever.
Just be a little generous, and try not try to teach them.
Let them chat with people of their kind, and they are happy.
There is no cure for it, and they will never understand, how serious their condition is, not how to use certain words properly.
Just stay away from them.

Anti-NT statements are just as idiotic as anti-autistic statements.
Curebies and NT's are not synonymous - in fact, most people believe what they do about autism because they have never met an autistic person. Generally, when approached in the right way, most NT's are quite open to the idea of autistic rights. One of the only things that gets in the way of this is the "us vs them" mentality many people have.
Bottom line, peoples is peoples, and each should be looked at as an individual. The labels are helpful tools, not religions.
Should we round up the NT's and put them in concentration camps? Because thats what people have when they thought they were supperior to people in the past.
