Granted -- Some people are meaner than others.. But, don't let it get to ya.
I have to say, I visited WP once and was greatly discouraged by their colour scheme. And the ugly little alien. At that point I lost interest.
I can't use regular fora because of my learning difficulties and because I get bullied. If I can't use places like WP then where can I go?
I am not able to socialise IRL so there is nothing left for me if online autistic people don't want me either.
What am I supposed to do? Why do people hate me?
Is it because I have learning difficulties and aspies are supposed to be above average intelligence? Am I an embarrassment?

You just don't get people like that on Wrong Planet, you get them on Aspies for Freedom, you get them on Youtube, you get them on Myspace and you get them on Facebook. Basically any social networking sites and forums you get elitist gits who harasss people because they don't agrre with them or just plainly don't like them. I say don't quit Wrong Planet because you let those jerks win as their aim is harass their targets so they would leave the site.

He asked you not to take it personally, so please don't. Although he could have been less rude, he does have a point and he isn't attacking you personally.
"Suffering" is a generic term that is not intended to suggest that you're really terribly unhappy about it. It lends itself to plenty of jokes, but taking it too seriously results in wankery like this.
You can communicate just fine given X and Y and Z, and .... Wait, when do these conditions occur? The point is that you will invariably have difficulty communicating with the average Joe who doesn't have a clue what you're on about or care to understand why you're so different. Sorry, just don't take it personally.
On the whole I'm ok on there, I tend to keep in the shadows and not stir up any controversy these days on WP. I think Alex has become too obsessed with the whole WP thing and has tried to turn it into a franchise rather than a place to bring together people on the spectrum.
I know he makes ALOT from ads alone on there, and he has an Aspie dating site too. There are some really nice people on WP, it's just a case of finding them before the over zealous staff pick out one tiny little thing that you say they don't agree with, and plug it untill you react, then they ban you.
I used to use the chat alot, now thats an experience. Trolls hit regularly, and the staff seem to be US based and not cover more world time zones, so if you go on when the US is sleeping, there is no moderation most of the time.
There was an incedent where a long standing member commited suicide, she was one of the sweetest, kindest people on there. They used her death to make the statement that if any members mentioned suicidal feelings they would be reported. Now nobody explained how they intended to pull this off, as most of the members are US based, again. I have no idea if they intend to interveine in the case of international members, as this would probably not be possible due to different laws etc. I personaly take that statement as an invasion of privacy and rights. I am pro choice, and while I would never help or encourage someone to take their life, I would not criticise them for doing so, I certainly would not use their death to violate the rights of others ether.
