I asked my 6 yr old (aspie) daughter recently what she would like to be when she grows up. She informed me that she wants to be a racing car!

"A racing car driver ?" I queried
"No a racing car" she replied.

Apparently she has "fallen in love" with Lightning McQueen the racing car from the Disney film "Cars". She wants to marry him and have his babies. I asked her what their babies would look like and she said "Baby racing cars"Big Grin

Any other strange aspirations out there ?

AWWW thats so CUTE!!!

well when i was little i was a lion, thanks to the lion king. I didn't even talk till i was four because I just wanted to roar like a lion.

I wanted to marry Scott from the Thunderbirds. I loved all of them and was devastated when my family finally managed to convince me that they were only puppets. :*cries*:

Sad I never really looked at anyone's faces on TV or IRL, just listened to their voices, so how was I supposed to tell? I was 12.

Apparently when I was in first grade I wanted to be a cow when I grew up.
When I was 5, I had an alter-ego I called "Hamster Moon".

When I was 10, I thought that, if I tried hard enough, I could make myself transform into a Sailor Scout like Sailor Moon.

When I was 12, I thought that I would someday devise a device to travel to a universe where the Invader Zim characters are real.

No wonder I'm a writer!

I used to pretend invader zim was real and that we were BFF. lol

I wanted to be a Scientist.  I'd get to wear one of those lab coats and arrange glassware and tubes and such.

Nowadays, I just play a scientist with a crowbar, smacking zombies in the head.  And an occasional Combine.

I'm sure there's a lab coat under the HEV suit, somewhere ...

I also get a major kick out of songs like "Weird Science", "She blinded me with science", some Information Society songs, some other Alan Parsons songs, etc.  (because they reference SCIENCE! in sort of a generic sort of way.  I'm goofy Smile

I now have the strangest Sailor Moon/Hamster Dance thing going on in my head.  Smile

Apparently when I was very small, I announced that I was going to Egypt alone when I turned six.  I got the Egyptology phase over and done with very early, apparently.

Still haven't got there...

I wanted to be a duck.
I wanted to be an astronomer and a musician / composer.
I also wanted to have magical powers - In a way I still do want this!
I fantasized about having puppies :-)

rossco

OK I know I have said this before but.....
A couple of years ago I was seeing my kids at the bowling centre on my birthday.
My little boy has never indicated what his wish for employment is and so when he suddenly piped up with:
"You know what I want to be when I grow up?"
I was all ears and interested.
Serious-faced he replied "I want to be just like you"
I nearly bloody cried.
He's a wise little fellow. I cannot think of a better ambition.

You're a good bloke, Rossco.
