Lots of "I hate you" statements. Lots of hurt.
The "i would rather date a spider" line is a good one I thought. Smile

For those of you that don't hear the audio on the website, go to here:

That way you can hear the dramatic reading Big Grin
I'm confused as to why it's funny, if it's real.  A guy calls his girlfriend a slut for no good reason and spreads false rumors about her just because she hangs out with other people, but his girlfriend is the "stupid" one because of her grammar and spelling and so forth?  (And then, again if this is real, the guy puts her break-up letter on the web so that everyone can mock her again, because it's apparently really funny that he treated her like his property and she resents it.)

I've always found it disturbing when a group of people (such as most autistic people) who almost undoubtedly know how bad it feels to be made fun of and called stupid for reacting to people treating them badly, would go and do the same to someone else.  This is why I don't think autistic people are any "better" than non-autistic people, despite protestations I hear to the contrary all the time.

insanity, if you found this amusing, i feel you need to re-evaluate your outlook about people and life

For one thing: I am always always always re-evaluating my outlook on life and people.

I would also like to say that the grammar of the letter and the dramatic reading of it was funny, not the person being humiliated.

I will admit the title of this post could be offensive, but I don't see the real justified reason to be offended by the letter/dramatic reading itself.

you are completely in the wrong. feel free to open this up to debate, i dont want this to go to PM's, i want everyones point of view here.

Sounds like a plan. I'll agree to debate this as well, as long as you don't think of me as a completely bad person just for being wrong (which I trust that you don't)(I only ask this because I've argued with some incoherent).

Its three minutes from new years so I am not going add anything to the argument. May we start a new thread for this debate?

I am still kinda confused on what exactly you were trying to prove (and I don't blame you, my dyslexia (that I suspect I have) makes me have to read things over, leaving me even more confused Tongue). I mean, I get the basic picture, but just re-say what you were trying to say and we'll start from there Wink

Hello,

I completely agree with what you have said, I do not find the humiliation in this story humorous. Also, I think Autistic people aren’t “better” than normal people, just “equal”.

Aye, tis true.

Surely if a lamp is wired differently it is still a Lamp?

It's the same for us "blessed" with AS traits and the assorted paraphenalia.

very well; i found the fact that you found the content of the letter, and the circumstances around it amusing, offensive.

Here's the thing. When I posted this on here, I didn't take into account the individuals or all of the circumstances. The way the letter was READ by the guy in the voice over that made this humorous to me.

When I go to see/hear something funny, I try to go to it with an open mind. I do NOT take into consideration the situation of the people involved in the joke unless the joke demands it.

You can go ahead and think that the letter, the dramatic reading, and etc. is offensive. But I believe that it is unjustified that you think its offensive that I found it funny.

Didn't think much about it being a real person behind the letter and laughed.

It was just like seeing ICANHASCHEEZBURGER all over again for me.
