I've decided to set up my own blog offering careers advice and I hope people here will find it useful. I've been meaning to do this for several months now, but it's only now that I've finally got round to doing it. I decided to set it up because I graduated 2 and a half years ago and I've been working full-time since then. I feel quite fortunate in that I managed to find a job very soon after graduating and having a thus-far unbroken careers history, so I thought I would like to share my advice with others. I know there are quite a few careers advice sites already on the internet, but very few of them were written by Aspies.
If you click on the About tab on the site, you will be able to read about my career so far.
I will aim to update the blog once a week, and each post will focus on a different aspect of careers advice. My first post is about setting up a career portfolio to help you during job interviews and performance reviews (appraisals). In the future I plan to write articles about social skills in the workplace, dealing with supervisors, team-working, surviving the first few weeks of a new job, finding a mentor to guide you through your career, as well as how to find a job in the first place! I have several other ideas for posts too.
If you have any comments you would like to add, or even if you would like to contribute an article of your own, I'd be happy to hear from you. It would be good to collaborate on a project which will hopefully be useful to many people.
