I dunno if i'll be any good at this, it's just January to June. Dealing with how workplaces use IT and stuff like that, nothing too deep.

My son did a course at polytechnic in steel fabrication, the mixed age range was beneficial, really helped him. Also he has a talent for this kind of work, so it was something in which he was able to achieve highly - this helped as well.
My daughter is looking to do some sort of IT course next year, my husband tells me there is a shortage of IT specialists and there will always be work.
I think it is always good to start with a very basic course and work your way up as you gain more confidence. This strategy seems to help me.

I know that's rather biased of me, I get on with people my own age just fine..my girlfriends in my age group, and I sort of have to get on with her 
But..you know when you just want to bellow "SHUT THE FUCK UP AND LET ME WORK" ? it was one of those situations.
