a human...

This thing all things devours:
Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;
Gnaws iron, bites steel;
Grinds hard stones to meal;
Slays king, ruins town,
And beats high mountain down.
but only technically.

the full answer and riddle is;

What, metaphorically speaking, walks on four legs just after midnight, on two legs for most of the day-barring accidents until least suppertime, when it continues to walk on two legs or with any prosthetic aids of its choice?

THEN the answer is a human =D
being a dick is great Big Grin

and no, the answer is not life.
no, no clues Wink
Dark

Thirty white horses on a red hill
first they clamp
then they stamp
then they stand still

Here be one!:

One is a key, but not in the good way;
One shares a humorous story while lisping;
One is not slow, nor does his voice echo;
One does not know whether to bounce or fly;
One barely the highest;
One beautifully Italian;
All are scattered, yet all united.

What they be?

Sounds like the members of AFF - a well-constructed riddle! Big Grin

BUT you are still wrong - I is not a word! Or the answer - in the middle or centre of what?

Is too! *grins*

And a lower case "i" is in the phrase "the middle" - the second letter of the second word, to be exact... I'll have to keep looking for the second answer, but I still think that "I" fits...

And as to my riddle, yeppers, that's correct! Bonus points for working out everyone mentioned...

One is not slow, nor does his voice echo; quickduck
One does not know whether to bounce or fly; Me! Big Grin
One barely the highest; Max the Bear
One beautifully Italian; Bella

And hint for mine: it is a word of four letters that describes the middle of something!

Yay! All but the top one! *grins* I'll leave it for a little while, because I'm pretty sure you'll get it...

As to yours, I'm still stumped for now - shall have to do some deep pondering...

I'm a complete idiot! RolleyesTongue

Evil Zakk-key! Duh....

Tee hee hee, one is Zakkie....

Sleep time for me now - happy riddling!

Tigger-you are very clever Smile

Your riddle is tricky, but I shall guess the word:

noon    NOON  ?...??...????

( really, I don't know)
Smile

Perfect! you are an official genius! Your turn... Big Grin

OK! Smile
here goes-very short and simple:

What can fill a room but takes up no space?

*EvilZakkie your riddle was very good-and original!

*grins* Thankee Mahl's! And kudos on getting Tig's riddle - I was completely stumped...

As to yours, is it "nothing"?

Mahler5 Wrote:
I seem to be talking in riddles Smile

The answer is just one word though...

Is it air?

And if you can't talk in riddles here, where can you? *grins*

Mahler5 Wrote:
I can hardly keep up with all these great posts! SILENCE is a good answer too!
but not the one I have.... Smile

Darkness, or Light?

Mahler5 Wrote:
yay you! LIGHT is the solution! Smile

that was fun Smile  Now it is your turn!

*grins* Oh yeah - I forgot about that part of it...

Aha! Found one!

Think of words ending in -GRY. Angry and hungry are two of them. There are only three words in the English language. What is the third word? The word is something that everyone uses every day. If you have listened carefully, I have already told you what it is.

Here's a bonus riddle for Doug Anthony All-Stars fans - I thought I'd post it seperately, because real riddle enthusiasts will hate the answer... *grins*

I cannot see,
I cannot wave,
I'm not a man,
But yet I shave.

What am I?

You cannot repeat a riddle I put in here earlier - think again!

Oops! So you did - I thought I'd seen it somewhere recently... *grins sheepishly*

Okie doke:

I can run but not walk. Wherever I go, thought follows close behind. What am I?
