That third one is one of the best ones I've seen.
I had a friend that had software to make these things.
SIRDS for NERDS it was called.
Stereo Image Random Dots, if I remember rightly.

Didn't someone hack up Doom or Quake to run in SIRDS / Magic Eye mode?
yes, they did. there is also an ASCII version.
I love those! Although somehow I'm not able to see these things anymore, but I used to and I loved them then, so I still do now! (lot of rambling, I know, sorry Smile )
I love magic eyes.

But I don't understand why many people have difficulty seeing them, or can't see them at all.  For me is second nature.  All I have to do is relax the directional focus of my eyes as if I'm looking at something far away, making each eye's line of sight almost parallel.  Then the repeating pattern in the picture overlaps itself and the 3D image jumps out.  I have had lots of practice on household items with repeating patterns, like a table cloth, radiator, or keyboard.  The keyboard is a great tool for this.  You can practice by looking at the floor, then quickly moving the keyboard into your sight at waste level.  You can see the G and H overlapping each other, or the G and J, or if you're really good, the F and J.

You can get similar effects by crossing your eyes.  Though I have discovered that many people also have trouble with that.  Even if I advise them to look at their finger held right in front of their nose, they still can't keep their eyes crossed once the finger is removed.  I guess eyeball abilities are just easy for me like dating and socializing is for a NT.

Here are some stereo images I made with my digital camera.  I took one picture, moved a few inches to the left, then took the other.  I have them arranged so they can be seen in 3D with cross eyes - left eye looks at right picture and vice versa.  Can you see them?

Well it wasn't as easy for me on a computer screen, that's for sure.

And I noticed that once you can see one, you can scroll down and see others without "starting over" if you hold your gaze like that.  Heh, that can't be good for my eyes...
B"H

I really want some lessons in how to do this cool artwork!  Someone please help!

This is a great art forum.

All the best,
I can't promise that everyone will be able to do magic eye or any other device-unassisted stereoscopic. It involves letting go, which may be tough.

*Don't* cross your eyes, unless it's required -- it's usually not. You want to be almost wall-eyed, which is perfectly normal: Stare at infinity. Depending on how your computer is set up this may be easy -- look out the window or at a far wall. Crossing your eyes can be a strain but looking in the distance just means relaxing your eye-steering muscles and shouldn't cause you any trouble or discomfort.

If you're really having trouble learning this, get a paper magic eye and go walk outside. Stare at the horizon until distant hills and trees come into focus. Concentrate on the hills and don't be distracted as you slowly raise the card up in front of your eyes. Be patient; the card may snap into focus and the horizon, out. Try again.

When you start to see even the edge of something different in the stereo, concentrate on it to the exclusion of everything else. As you look, let the image settle in. I find it takes me a good 30 seconds of looking before all the details pop out. But then if I go from one to another card, the next is easier.

Realize that the image that you see is 3D -- and only 3D. It has no color of itself, no shading. The first one you really see will look very weird.

It may help to jog your head or the card just a little, side to side. Don't tilt or rotate the card at all; you must hold it square to your eyes. But as you move a bit to the right or left, the 3D illusion will start to work for you.

Good luck!
on this one the only thing i seen was a brick wall, and the colors kept changing as each color scheme seperated itself from the other colors. I don't see a 3-D image though, maybe I am looking wrong.

I meant on the second picture, the one with the blue and black and all that, not the fire one.
crossing the eyes does not meke the image go reversed... andmagic eye is supposed to be good for you becaus it execises he ey muscles
Magic eye is awesome Big Grin.

One thing I noticed, is that if you "look farther" than you need to for a specific magic eye image and line up the patterns for that distance, the 3D object inverts and doubles itself.

My eye muscles are way to strong O_O
