Christmas went the way it always does. Picked up and driven out there by dad.

The dinner consisted of Julskinka; a kind of pig ham that's cooked in the oven and laced with stuff. It's cut in thin slices and eaten with mustard. I like the fat lardy part, yummy! Not for muslims or semites unless they're unortodox. Smoked eel from "Kenta på Gränsö"; that's a queer fellow. Eel is just skin and fat and knowing what eels feed upon doesn't put it on my plate, No Thanks; carcass fish. Rödbetssallad; home made and not home made, that's red beets of the same as in the Russian Bortsj Soup, but no soup here. Julbröd, ie, some kind of dark bread with raisins. That's the first part of dinner. Cold or not so cold things.

The second part consists of hot things. Sausages, home made Swedish meat balls; folks know a lot of people that hunt, fish and farm so they get things from them. Some kind of rib; not sure. Meat clinging to rib like bones; real juicy fat. Jansons Frestelse (Jansons Temptation) is a dish consisting of potato, onion and anchovy all baked in the oven in a baking form.

There have been more dishes in earlier years but I'm not the one to complain as long as there is plenty of the legendary Julmust; a sweet carbonated beverage that make Cloaca cOla just as old and hideous that it actually is.

Got a ride home with the bro, pooh!
I figure on Oatmeal for breakfast, then potatoes, onions, and a steak for dinner.
I've not called myself "the Solitary" for nothing Smile

(side note, I've noticed it was the UTF-8 characters throwing a mysql error, not the German Smile
if you don't understand my rambles, never mind them.  They're not important anyway.)
I prepared chicken-breast in tomatoe and basil, and also cauliflower in a similar sauce (because my wife's vegetarian)
In addition she prepared a green salad and Santa Claus took resposibility over the carbonhydrates (pasta and gnochi)
As a desert we had Ice-cream.
Everything was very tasty and we had a nice evening.
I had roast pork, ham, new potatoes, peas and carrots. For dessert, pavlova and plum pudding with bubbly wine.
I will be going to my parents' house for dinner about 15 minutes from now...not sure what they will serve, but on my table, later on, I will have pork fried rice and assorted desserts!  Cool Thank goodness for the Chinese restaurant in my neighborhood staying open for the holiday.

                           Cool Noel, noel...
We eat vegetarian more than half of the time here, but Christmas dinner is our huge nod to being omnivorous. We have both goose and rib roast. Also had au gratin potatoes, cornbread stuffing w/gravy, broccoli, cranberry sauce, horseradish sauce, pumpkin pies w/ whipped cream, and bread pudding w/ butterscotch and custard sauces. We cook fat for Christamas. No remorse -- but it is out of my system for the year.  Tongue
