I definately would not think that a protest is appropriate for such small-scale things of course. However, if they hold any larger fundraisers then I fully intend to be there early and bring enough people to reach the sim's limit.
Having thought more about this, that means of course that contacting the SL press is a bad idea at present, but let's keep the option open for in the future.

Oopsies multiple post, but............there have been two events that I know of. One of them raised L$100,000 putting thier total campaign moneys collected at, I guessimate, L$400,000 ($1200US). And it seems to me like they empied the kiosks while I was on break. It sure seemed like there was a lot more in those kiosks before Christmas.

I'll keep an eye on the event listings on the official SL forums for any fundraising events. Funny thing is they're not announcing any events in thier group notices!!

You can have fun!
Behind every avatar is a real person, and everything you see inworld like buildings, gadgets, clothes were all created by these real people. So yes, respect, but people have made fun stuff inworld too.
They've launched a survey for group members, but its via a URL so open to all.

Le'see if we can fill it out and leave our opinions in the comments at the end

I decided to clean up some tumbleweeds on this one Tongue
The sooner you get my inworld IM Gareth, the better.

They're banning everyone from thier stores.
I never even approached these people before Sad
Next time you're inworld Gareth, look in the AFF group list for an avatar named Sunnyside Roux. I have reason to beleive she is Daphne's new PR. Notice she wasnt on the Layniewear banlist last night?
I thought Daphne would have been independant from last nights events (rather Teagan and co. acting on thier own) but if she was involved.........Sad

Nothing like a bit of theft to bring out the "altruism" in some ignorant fashionistas. If you observe anything about the SL fashion blog circle, you know that when one blogger writes about some wrong thats been done to them, about 100 fashionista bloggers will follow and blog about the same thing. So now we have to play a 'whack a mole' type game surfing between blogs defending ourselves (god only knows where the next blog will turn up!!)
And they're talking about a SL Herald article....HELP!!!!!
Sad
Who was this protester? may I ask? (you can tell me in secret Wink)
It's also a good idea now to delete Laynie's full perm outfit if you have it in your inventory. For Laynie's business sake.

Is there any, and I mean ANY word from Daphne about this? or has she totally gone back on her words. I'd really like to see the money they're raising split to include other charities.

At least the fashionista onslaught has died down for tonight.
Y'know, she had the grand opening of her new store on the weekend.
This was a lovely publicity stunt, yes?
Oh god, not on SLU!! Not Tenshi Vielle!!

NOT at my favourite lurking place Sad Sad  Sad

What is Second Life?
Oh ok. Smile I'll check it out.
I got asked at Toys r US today to donate to Autism Speaks and told them no way and made my parents do the same and explained to them why.I use to donate to them until I got an email on my other group about them sueing a 14 year old.

Big virtual world

They donate a % of profits?? I just thought they donated the money that people gave specifically to Autism speaks. I never heard of them getting more.

Personally I would not buy any products from a store that supports autism speaks. Rather than simply not donate to them, by shopping in such a place you are enabling them to donate a certain % of their profits (that is the usual way businesses do it when supporting a charity in a big way).

As expected Rolleyes
So much for Violets "balanced" story, eh?
We need someone lower funtioning to chime in and totally s*** over that Blak dudes offensive misconception.
