The funny thing about astrology is that it would be very easy to prove or disprove these days, as the positions of the stars can be calculated very precisely.

For example, if a certain star position set for a particular person meant "life turmoil" or something similar, it should be possible to say "your life will be thrown into turmoil at 3:13pm Monday week". If nothing happens at that exact time, then astrology doesn't work.

One of these days I'll get around to doing it... *grins*

I am not going to defend astrology (I give it 40% influence at most and it only describes the younger person, not someone who has really lived and changed due to their environment, but I digress), but I will say that apparently the planet alignment is what you would see if you looked skyward the day of your birth.

Further, Shirley McClaine (who is well versed in all things new age and alternative religions and truths) feels the soul chooses when to reincarnate for the most part and chooses a season and time it feels comfortable with.

Re planets again, the new agers who are really out there feel we spend time on some of these planets like Venus in particular (in our astral bodies or maybe mental bodies, I don't know) BETWEEN incarnations, but as I can't prove it, as it was never discussed by Meher Baba (my guru) or any of his mandali I demur on the subject entirely.

That said, I suppose, and I am guessing here, that our planetary influences reflect this time spent elsewhere so to speak.
