he Autism Treatment Center Of America Announces 2nd Edition Of The Son-Rise Program Developmental Model For Curing Autism

The Autism Treatment Center of America™ (ATCA) continues to offer groundbreaking advances in curing autism. The ATCA has announced the 2nd Edition of The Son-Rise Program® Developmental Model.

The Son-Rise Program for autism treatment and education is the only program that:

-- Was created by parents for parents
-- Helps parents cure their children in some cases and bring about significant improvement in almost all cases
-- Has worked for 25,000 families from 75 countries with a radical departure from traditional behavior modification for Autism
-- Takes a situation that can be divisive and uses it to unite families

The Son-Rise Program Developmental Model is based on the understanding that the ability to socialize, create and sustain substantial interactive relationships is the fundamental challenge for people on the autistic spectrum. It is important to focus on all areas of a child's development, but the first and foremost skill must be social development, the ability to socially interact. By focusing on this area, parents and caregivers can create the greatest possibility for change.

The 2nd Edition of The Son-Rise Developmental Model offers more detail about the specific social skills required to develop a Son-Rise Program curriculum. It clearly explains the stages of social development, including easily understandable Social Developmental Charts, and how to create a curriculum that focuses on the skills most appropriate for a child's next step in social development.

Raun K. Kaufman, CEO of the ATCA and himself fully cured through The Son-Rise Program, said, "The Son-Rise Program Developmental Model will make a profound difference in your work with your child, or the child in your life."

Looking at Autism News headlines I realise...

... people repeat history whenever they get the opportunity.

I remember having seens some negative talk about Son-Rise in the very early threads of AFF.

WAIT A MINUTE!!!!!!!

the son-rise program have made a few changes showing that they may not be a huge curebie program after all.

1. the autism treatment centre is no more it has been renamed the "options institute" because most of the people involved (mainly the staff) HATED the name!!

2. raun kaufman has stated in several speech's of his that even though autistic's are "locked away who's to say that they are unhappy?"

so I think they may not be as bad as people think however If some more information is found out about them I will use this against raun kaufman to ensure that his next speech at portsmouth does Not happen

hope this clears things up Smile

I don't find it encouraging.  For one thing, Autistics are not "locked away" this is a curebie lie.  Who's to say we're unhappy, well we are.  I wonder how "not unhappy" he thinks it makes you when everybody talks about how you have no future.  I'm not even going to mention the legions of horrible things people do to you when you have an autism label.  We are unhappy, we are VERY unhappy with the way things are done and that's why we are fighting to change it.

As for changing the name, considering the fact that they use PC language like "challenged by autism" I feel no compunction against assuming they are doing little to address the real problems with their autism attitude.  It seems like, very often, the word "challenges" is one more way to put the focus--and the fault--with disabled people whenever they experience problems related to their disability.  So, when a person cannot get a job because people do not un derstand their needs and refuse to become educated, is this a "challenge" that it either met or failed to meet, or is it bigotry?  I am not "challenged" by autism, I am "challenged" by people who use this label as an excuse to treat me like crap.  Screw them, screw their challenges.  It's more than just challenges, there is abuse and discrimination.

Yep, and it's even some of our "own" people who make comments that we aren't discriminated against and that is what I find most disappointing of all. I wouldn't expect better of people who don't have our condition because they often don't understand. I would expect better from those of us who have Asperger's and still want to put down others who are less high functioning than they are or more accepting of their condition.

sorry I didn't think about it really I should have thought more Sad

I found a folder about the Son-rise program in my conservatory this is because unfortunately my local support decided to bring him over to my home city and let raun kaufman spout his B.S

anyways I confronted my mum about this and she said that "some children need treatment because they aren't as lucky as you , he isn't talking about curing asperger's" I could have told her what she was saying was usual curebie crap! and took it off me.

But I have taken the folder back and hidden it in my room and when the scanner is working and my parents are out the house I will scan the contents onto the computer and send a copy of it to all who are intrested.
Interested here, I have autie friends down in portsmouth as it happens, and if I can get ahold of em, I can send them a copy also, do scan this, I haven't seen all that much curebie type of shite floating around in this country, so far at least, I was hoping so far, so good, but it seems the sickness has spread Tongue

And I am not talking about Asperger's either...

LOL

I did appose this guy's coming here unfortunatley he has made his speech but now after reading that folder I am going to make sure this organisation is shut down.

whats worse is our local paper "the news" keeps publishing stories about parents that are going to use the son-rise program

Hall of shame?

the son-rise program? yes

the news no because it didn't publish a bad view of autism.

At least i's better than their previous efforts. They're making headway from the more offensive things they've said. At least, in my opinion.

I thikn this is becoming a bit confusing!

the news refers to the media in general

"the News" refers to my local paper

is that bit less confusing?

anyways they can't really post bad stuff about autism because if they did my local autism support group would be making sure the article was removed! LOL Big Grin
