Hi guys, I just had to write in to have a little boast (and to show what the results of hard work can bring!)

My daughter Lauren has just finished Year 11 (here in Australia the school year finishes in December) and last night we went to the awards night because SHE WON THE BIOLOGY AWARD!!!

I'm so proud Big Grin

She and another girl in her year had tied for first place in Biology, and she was called up onto stage last night with the other girl and they took equal first.

She really deserves this; this year she decided she wanted to study to become a doctor after she finishes high school, and to that end has really thrown herself into biology, harnessing the Aspie trait of total immersion in a subject to good effect.

Her other subjects were good: class average in maths and English, second in physics/chemistry, third in art.  But to take out first in biology was awesome.  We're going to frame the award, and her dad is so proud of her as well.

Alison
Oh, Alison, she must be feeling very happy and proud. It is so wonderful to share a child's victories.
Excellent!
Congratulations. It sounds like she really worked hard on it. We'll need more Doctors with that hard working attitude.
Congratulations to the future Dr. Lauren!  Second in chemistry is good too, I imagine her chemistry knowledge will also be useful in her future career. Smile
This is so good to hear!  I love hearing when our children's talents make themselves evident and our uniquely gifted kids come into their own!

Good luck to your amazing daughter!
