My mum lent me the book Northern Lights. It's quite interesting, although it took me a lot of effort to get into reading it. I'm about two thirds of the way through. We haven't got the movie yet, but I'm gonna see it when it comes out, I reckon.
Yes, yes...I loved the book; and can’t wait to see the film.
In fact I thought all three books in the 'His Dark Materials' trilogy were fantastic.
But the UK version of the book did have a different title ‘Northern Lights’

Quickduck,
I thought you said you were a slow reader. How long did it take you to finish all those books?
I have a 400 page book I've been working on now for nearly a year--my attention span has been so horrific (actually worse than it was before) lately that I can barely get past 3-4 pages at a time without having to stop.
There was an interview with Nicole Kidman on Campbell Live (sort of a current affairs etc show in NZ) about her part in that movie. Looked interesting, but I didn't see the whole thing.
Seriously fast processing, rotten long term memory. Rather like a palm top.....
It is the complete opposite for me--and from what I've read, at least from Temple Grandin on this subject, the "slow processing/excellent longterm" (her example was a 486 Mghz computer with 60 GB of hard drive space) is the more common style for Aspies. But, that may just be a generalization on her part (or mine.)
I have found the tendency for excellent longterm memory to be very common among AS folks, both from what I read on AFF, and in my family.

I just saw Eyes Wide Shut tonight, and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed her role in that movie.
I am a Hare it says I am solitary, passive, modest and dependable which is very accurate! Wow.
Most aspies I speak to are either very fast or very slow--never middling.
That is far too generalizing... there may be certain skills that Aspies are very fast in, and others that they are very slow in... to call an Aspie "all slow" or "all fast" just doesn't make sense to me.
I read extremely fast; I started reading the triology Monday last week and now I'm a third thru the last book. ^^ I just can't put them down. As for my dæmon... well, here he is:
I blacked out my name, cuz I'm paranoid like that. XD I think mine suits.
Yup. I want to see it, and I know it's not like the book; just think of it as a visual aid. ^^
I took the test three times, I kept getting the stupid mouse one. Everyone got cool sounding ones... and I got the mouse... oh boy.. and it's name is Laefe.
Let me see... pretty, intelligent, athletic, friendly, brave -
From your posts here I reckon you're a wonderful mouse, too!

There shouldn't be ?s in my previous post.
There seem's to be a glitch - these funny question marks are cropping up everywhere! (including my signature.

Well, I managed to sort out my sig, but we'll have to await the genius of Gareth to solve the rest...
The end bit was cut from the film; guess it fits more with the dark pace of the second book, anyway.

Yes, but I found it very sudden, as if the story suddenly stopped. If they weren't going to film the whole book I think that they should have spent more time on the earlier parts of the story and ended with the rescue of the children.
