Are you seriously suggesting you can't have a normal neurology and not be a sheep? That's got to be the stupidest thing I ever heard.

That's a double negative (I think) now I am even more lost.

Most people follow the crowd - there's safety in numbers.

Mike - I couldn't find your music on your myspace page.

WELCOME!

Plus it's tempting for many people to adopt a "superiority" mindset as a counter to discrimination.

Good point zacchie.

I suppose i've sobered you up somewhat, Richard Tongue

the elitism is a natural reaction to any "oppression".

i must admit, when i first joined, i was an elitist. i have...matured... since then. if you go to my first few posts, they are very aggressive, very angry.

now, however i realise this: that is the first step to combating it.

a beast resides within all humanity. it is humanities job to watch for it

Good post - the OP (?) was new to the forum - I think we need to give people are chance before we leap in with negative judgments.

Sheep, in terms of Aspies, would mean the Aspie-elitism/superiority thing?  That's what I'm thinking, esp. as it pertains to this thread.

no - sheep all run after each other following each other - kind of like follow the leader.
The aspie who projected the elitist ideal was the black sheep in this thread.

but that is just my take - others will likely see it differently.

I think it's important to note that using social osmosis doesn't necessarily equate to a "sheep" mentality - for instance, social osmosis from a source considered to be a negative one will actually have the opposite effect - creating an anticulture to society.

yeah, an anticulture to society - but and inclusive culture within itself.

sometimes getting on with things isn't that simple.
Heh i'm gonna enjoy this :3
Aspie Elitists are a shower of bastards ;p

Simple enough Hun? :3
The trouble with elitism is that puts people into groups - a them and us situation - and it creates rejection. it's not nice,

Neurotype is secondary to this & all humans differ in their neurology.

A good point.

But it's human nature...and since we are human (as we beg the media to be) then we get all the *** baggage attact to it.

Yes - it does seem to be human nature - survival of the fittest.

But I think if people can be made aware of this - we can educate and work towards a more humanitarian why of behaving in the world.
We have to strive for the best.

I wonder if you misunderstood me, I'm not sure.

My understanding of a more humanistic world would be one where people have the equal right to be treated with respect and dignity irrespective of their differences.  This doesn't imply overall equality. We are all individuals.
