What's with all the aspie supremacy lately?
We are better at specific things, yes. That does not translate to universal superiority. I've met idiots both aspie and NT, and i've met geniuses both aspie and non-autistic (one can't quite call a genius NT).
To clarify a few points:
I have seen just as many aspie sheep as i've seen NT sheep, the difference is that the aspie sheep like to obsess over how to grow wool, while the NTs do so without thinking. In this sense you could argue the aspies are the superior sheep (they think about their sheepness), but they're sheep nonetheless. However, those who aren't sheep are most certainly not NT, though they may not be on the spectrum either.
I thought this site was for the next generation of aspies; but it ap[pears that this is just another example of wrongplanet.net, where we should all cry and grieve because we are not NTs? yuk no thanks!
Shortest post I may ever make:
Wow, what a prick. Go away.
The next generation ???
everyone are equals no one person is better than another
It's true that NT's would have trouble if things were reversed, but that does not mean they are inferior.
Yep, that was exactly my point - we're not inferior or superior, we just are.
Not better or worse...just different. I totally agree.
Oh God another thread of aspie elitism. Why God why? MikeGeo have you been talking to Timelord, SoulSick, Shamshire and Gibson Man. I am sure these intellectual giants will share your point of view on this matter
sheep == one who follows the herd mindlessly, and there's sheep of all different neurotypes.

The Aspies who say we should just "fit in" and pretend to be NTs are no doubt sheep.

Are you seriously suggesting you can't have a normal neurology and not be a sheep? That's got to be the stupidest thing I ever heard.
LMAO! How many joints have you had, Gareth?
Actually, i'd argue that those who make a big point of how "elite" they are simply by virtue of neurotype are much more sheep-like than those who simply get on with things. The aspie elitism thing can be understandable to a point, but it's something that's normally grown out of.
As for wilky's comment: none, quit trolling.
sometimes getting on with things isn't that simple.
Very true, Lucie.

Why have'nt you "grown out of it"?
"quit trolling." Stop me!

I did - hence why i'm pointing out that sheep of both autistic and NT types exist. And as for stopping you trolling - I refer you to whose site this is
But it's human nature...and since we are human (as we beg the media to be) then we get all the *** baggage attact to it.
Yes - it does seem to be human nature - survival of the fittest.
But I think if people can be made aware of this - we can educate and work towards a more humanitarian why of behaving in the world.
We have to strive for the best.
Equal rights for all should be enforced by law, this does not imply that everyone is equal in all ways, but it does mean that all should have the same protections under law. Discrimination/prejudice is when universal human rights are denied, or one's rights are lower than others based on membership in a minority group.
It is a fallacy to say "we are all the same inside", what must be shown is how the stupid differences people tend to look at mean nothing. I once heard of a school teacher explaining that racism is wrong because "we are all the same inside". In truth, racism is wrong because a person's skin colour does not matter to their worth, and universal protection of human rights under law has only one possible exception: the criminal justice system, after due process to determine guilt. The same goes for any of the traditional things bigots get worked up about - judging people by what does not matter is the source of irrational prejudice.
Claiming everyone is equal is false - someone will always be better than you at something and thus superior, we are not all equal, but we do deserve equal rights.
Remember that equality means "same" - many curebie parents turn to chelation et al in the name of equality. Equal rights, but not complete equality.
