Hi,

I'm diagnosed AS and am living with my partner who has three children. They now come for sleepovers every other weekend and for half the school holidays. We are hoping to get two-night weekends in the new year.

It's been quite an experience for me from many perspectives. I just wondered if anyone else on this forum is in a similar position - learning to cope with both the children and the implications of AS (I've been diagnosed for less than a year).

I'd very much like to chat with someone who can share similar experiences. Oh, and tough as it can be, it's not all bad - I have plenty of little pleasing anecdotes as well as needing a bit of support at times when things get too much.
I'm not a step parent, but I'm a mom that has AS... if that helps any? How old are your step-children?  I have two daughters, 5 and 3.  It can get a little hairy sometimes... but it  can be great too.  You can PM me if you'd like and we could chat.
Hi,

I'm not sure if I can help. I'm NT but I have a son with AS and two NT step daughters. My step daughters are also only here at weekends and holidays, I'm sure some of the challenges we face will be different but there are probably lots that are similar as well. I'm more than happy to chat if you want.
