Well, about eleven to thirteen hundred years after the founding of Christianity the then current crop of Christians decided that the world would be better off if it were Christian, and effectively went to war against the whole world. How long is it since the founding of Islam? Hmmmm........
Back on topic,
Christianity says that everyone is born, and dies, equal, and is therefore equally entitled to respect.
Christianity says that we each have the means of our own salvation. I know that some churches teach otherwise, but it is the former that Jesus himself said.
Oh we had Dirty Bombs and that back then? ;p
"Uh Oh, here comes Jesus with his RPG-7"

And slaughter by sword, axe and arrow is just as deadly to the victims as a bomb. Especially as there were no hospitals, anćsthetics, antibiotics.......
I quite like the idea of an RPG of Jesus - a bit like Pokémon, but you collect Disciples instead of Monsters and you throw moves like 'heal' and 'forgive sins' instead of 'surf' and 'flamethrower'!!

There are some positives there and I do associate their form of Christianity very strongly with morality, compassion, and virtue.
Up to a point it does. I do think it also scares him. We never will "have" to kill billions of people. I believe any religion that advises wholesale killing is not one I would like to follow.

I feel stupid actually sharing something personal and positive about Christianity.
Maybe you are right. Maybe I was wrong. God is just a nasty bastard who glorifies death.

The best representations of positive things to come out of Christianity.
I give up. Good luck with the thread Chris

My thoughts too. All this negativity is only going to make me feel more depressed. I want to hear good things about God, not all this doom and gloom about death and destruction. That just makes me feel sick!
I wonder why? Our grandparents' generation found peace and love in Christianity in the midst of terrible war. We find terrible things in Christianity in a time of relative peace.

Is it because we just like 'balance' in our lives and get worried if things are going 'too well' instead of just enjoying the feeling?
