I never understand why people say such things as "I'm not being funny but ...." and then they go and say something that I find very rude lol.

Also, what does it mean when "one pushes the boat out?"

Any other silly sayings?
Blimey, don't want you all to think that people are rude to me but you know what I mean when I say that.  I am quite touched at the moment as there is a surprise party for our family next weekend and apparently half the village are coming to it as we are leaving and emigrating.  Blimey, my friend has pushed the boat out lol.

My friend says nothing gets past me and I could run the whole neighbourhood watch scheme all by myself ha ha!

rustle up some tucker

how does tucker sound like food Rolleyes lol Tongue

I've never really understood the saying 'carrying on like a pork chop'. No, I did not make that one up. Curiously enough, it means to make too much of a fuss about something. But pork chops don't seem to make a fuss about anything, they sit quietly waiting to be cooked and eaten. I'm confuzzled.

Why is that when another person says "I'm only trying to be honest", it means they are usually giving you unjustified criticism. It actually means they are only seeing the bad side of you so it's far from being honest.

there is one exprettion that really grosses me out "pull your finger out" eww! it just makes me shudder i think its because i visualise it that or im just weird lol Tongue
I once had a little boat that I pushed out as it usually was dragged up on the shore a bit so... Yes, I know what that means, I sure do! Even when the saying isn't about a "real boat" at all; I must add because I don't want to come off as someone who was "born behind a wagon" which means that you're daft and have "no horses in the stable" which means that you've got "less points than possible". That last one I just made up.
