This is closest to Gandhi and he is certainly somebody I admired as a world leader.

Im a bit closer!, so hmm he is more liberal then left, Wink

I'm not sure what some of those questions had to do with politics (seemed more like stereotypes to me, as if all liberals are New Age fruitcakes or something).  But oh well Tongue

Bollocks.

Here's mine:
The Political Compass

Economic Left/Right: -8.62
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -7.44
In the green area, close to Ghandi and communism.

I finally admitted to myself, and to my husband, that I am a communist.  I'm not a fanatic, but I'm a die-hard Quaker, and much of what I believe socially seems in line with communism.  I'm in the U.S., though, so my true political nature hardly matters.
What's wrong with permitting religion in public schools? If students want to voluntarily pray, or read a Bible, Torah, Koran, or whatever, where's the harm in that?
I know, but I'm asking what's the problem with allowing students to do that?

And no right libertarian has ever advocated allowing public schools to endorse religion.
I mean major figures.

And any right libertarian who even supports the existence of public schools is hardly a libertarian at all.

Any government service should respect the division of church and state. That is why a public school should not endorse (or prohibit) any religious practice by students.

Exactly.

Although, I'd prefer if we did away with public "education" altogether.

Economic: -8.33
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.50

Public education (as in state-owned) is "adequate". For many who have great talent in a particular area (hmm, I wonder who could have an obsessive interest in something.......) it is often severely lacking.

ATM: How sad, but true.  I'm one of the few NEA members to be in favor of home schooling.

Don't tell them!

All the best.

PS.

I'm not an economic libertarian, but I do believe in homeschooling.

All the best.
