It seems like the only outsider you have is the man in the insurance company. Could you mention him to the police as someone who can testify to that man's behaviour? Is there a restraining order you could get out on him? There is obviously enough reason for you to get out a restraining order. I'm sorry, I don't really know the police system over there. It must be different from ours. I really hope you can find a way to get through to the police that this man is being threatening. You'd think with the number of times you have had violent outbursts from him, that would be enough to have them take your word for it. There is some good out there, even if sometimes it can be hard to find. I'm sorry, that's all I can think of to offer.
I am a little baffled that an openly spoken threat is not being taken seriously by the authorities. That is all that is necessary in the U.S. If a person openly threatens person or property, hello restraining order.

Unfortunatly I dont have much advice to give you...about 8 years back me,my family and my friends got the messege that I would be burned alive and stuff that you dont want to know about.
However Im still alive,I moved to a shelter for some months untill the situation had calmed down a bit.
I would recomand a camera outside and inside your house,make a copy of all phonecalls and alert your best friends about the situation.
Make sure allways to have the cellphone with you,and have speed-dial ready incase.
Make sure never to be alone,stick around someone you trust.
You shouldnt have to move out of your home...but...perhaps a vacation could be an alternative?

Yes, it is a terrible situation. The problem with moving away is that the person can simply follow you to where you move to. And it is stressful to leave your home especially as you are not to blame for any of this happening to you. So you are victimized even more..

most webcam drivers have a feature whereby you can set them up to detect and record motion.
set them up under the eaves around your house,and voila! instant,cheap,discreet CCTV.
its the same ease to set up sound recording.
i would also keep a dictaphone,disposable camera and...is Mace legal over there?
Could it be an idea to contact any form of support-group or police in your former country and ask for help?
Alright, this has reached a new level of stupidity.
We went out on the road after a week of no nonsense from him and, lo and behold he was sat parked in a layby WAITING for us. We drove past and he came out acting like a maniac again, which we've gotten kind of used to, it'll be the 6th time.
Anyway, when this failed, he pulled alongside our driver side window, and pointed a GUN out the passenger window. Needless to say we sped off at that point.
But this is gettign rediculous, dad has angina and each of these attacks makes him really ill and he's worrying himself to death, the police arn't intrested because we can't PROVE any of this because there's never any witnesses besides us, and dad gets even worse state when we try file anything.
We're essentially trapped in our own home, nobody wants to help and if this keeps up someone's going to die, what the hell are we meant to do?

if he where to come to your house, how would the law regard you attacking him back,if he is threatening?
hm..as i, and others have suggested, i still think the best option would be to set up a CCTV feed from the front and rear of your house.
and keep something long near the door.
if it comes to it, fend him off with that, strike low, so if he wants to grab it, he must stoop.
and ABOVE ALL,get photographic or video evidence! even a voice recording!
Make sure to keep a cell-phone with you at all times.The cell-phone must have camera and voicekopy-functions that are easy to handle in any emergancy.
Make sure to ask the people you by it from how to get the best one they have.
Dont get to many locks on your door,becaue what can be used for you,can also be used against you!
Thats pretty pathetic, where are your rights. I'd suggest moving into a Spic-free area. This guys prolly a Methhead. Its a popular drug with those greasy Chili-Dippers.
If you have filed some reports & the cops havent done nothing, call some family or associates & jump him next time he comes, if hes going nuts he'll prolly test positive for Crystal Meth so it can't look that bad for you, unless the judge & lawyers are Beaners, but I dought that.
If all else fails, offer to let him in & make him a Taco as long as he keeps his armpits down.
But seriously, what it seems is that you live in a poor community full of drugs run by Mexicans who don't care & thats not good if your british. If you move to a better area, you'll have a lot better of a life with better friends & you'll feel more secure & valued.
