I enjoyed watching the YouTube video of this kid's special interest... vacuum cleaners.

So, does anyone else have a video about their special interest on YouTube?  They'd be fun to watch
Or how about posting a picture of your special interest here?
We had the 'bore us to tears' thread which was popular some time ago. Could probably be found by google if the AFF search engine still isn't working.
My son's current special interest, lampposts!

very pretty :-)

Heh heh, Kyle..little tyke.

He's a member of the Vacuumland forum as am I.
Ian - there's a forum dedicated to vacuum cleaners?

Why do I not have any REAL aspie interests? Sad
http://www.vacuumland.org/

Did I say forum? I mean't international organization for collectors of old vacuums Tongue

And for that matter, what the hell is a "real aspie interest" ? one would argue that my interest in making bollock loads of money, cars, the opposite sex and so on aren't proper aspie interests Tongue I still have them.
Since y'all are talking about vacuum cleaners, can someone offer insight as to whether a Dyson is worth its $500 price tag?
I hear they break down -very- easily Tongue

I can't think of anyone on Vacuumland that would reccomend one ;p

My Dad was at the Dump once (like ya do) and he noticed that pretty much every vac there was, wait for it, a dyson..and they all looked BRAND NEW Tongue

Ian are you really?  I find that fascinating.  Can you tell me why you like them so much?  And have you always had a special fondness for vacs?

Maybe we don't realise that we have special interests before someone point out how much you know about a topic.

People seem to consult you about medications all the time when I look in the chatroom.

Oh i've always found electricals interesting, lol.

Why old Vacuum Cleaners? BECAUSE THEY'RE OLD! lol

It's like using a piece of modern history, using an antique...I love how the designs and technology has evolved over time...if anything it's an Engineering Interest.

As far as I know other collectors of Vacuums, and indeed anything that's old, have the same "motives".
