I've had this webspace for a while, and would like some input on what I could do. I used to have some unfinished pages uploaded, but decided to take them down...
I've got a new program that makes it easier to transfer files to an FTP, so I'll be using that, and stuff.
So...so far, is the color scheme good? :/
I already know a basic theme, and know enough HTML to get by, but would still like some help with things such as organization.
So, basic layout is:
Front Welcoming Page(index.html) with basic site info like specs and theme, leading to an Index(front.html). From there, there will be links to sections for: a personal bio, sort of like "why this site exists at all"(bio.html), a section for all the work I've done, like links to my online galleries, essays, videos, and a webcomic I plan to start(work.html),and a links section(link.html)
My biggest trouble has been trying to find a layout I like for this links page. I thought that listing them all in text with a hyperlink would work, but then there were way too many for that to be plausible. If i have banners, then I might not have enough room to include text about them without stretching the tables for a few of them.
Also, the most important, is grouping them in some way that makes them all easy to navigate.
So far my setup for this is to have them in different categories:
Entertainment- Sites like Youtube, or online games, or Project Playlist.
Personal sites- Anything owned by one person or a group, done on their spare time or as a hobby, including personal online galleries of some artists I know.
Webcomics- Self-explanatory right?
News/Social groups- Blogs, special interest groups, faux-news sites like The Onion would also fit here.
Resources- Anything that offers a service. eBay would be a good example, but I have no plans on linking to them.
Community- Site's I'm signed up on. Like this one.
"for the lulz"- any of those websites that seem to be ingrained in the internet, like YTMND, SA, 4chan, and the like, where lots of internet humor and culture come out of.
misc- Anything that doesn't fit, or otherwise is just hard to explain why I would link to it.
I also have a few websites that fit more than one of these. One called "I drew this" is a webcomic as well as a newsgroup, and a personal blog.
If any should be reworded, or any of them otherwise seem like they're disjointed in their purpose, then tell me how I could organize it better?
(posting while tired! WEEE!)
