This post is about a film Chiller refuses to pull down. Despite it being little more than hate propaganda about the Autistic.

Warning: This film is rather graphic and unsettiling. Chiller is a channel that shows horror shows and films. So if that stuff upsets you don't go. Although, I think you should just to see what is making me so mad.

You see the film is little more than hate propaganda towards the neurodiverse. They show the mentally retarded character, as being delusional, violent, and remorseless. I fear this film will only spawn more fear of those who are neurodiverse, and thusly more violence/bullying to those who are neurodiverse.

The site's mod, has me on their hate list now. Apperantly they don't see any similarity between Autism and mentally retardation as of their last post. I said, fine you want to ruin Chiller's credibility by all means, no skin off my back. I like the programming on Chiller, I think this is far more important then that though.

This film is like traveling back in time where the mentally ill and neurodiverse were put in homes for the mentally ill. It only seeks to set that mindset, that people who behave Autistically should be feared and put away for society's own good. I want to start a campaign against Chiller, I figure posting here is a good start. I'm going to ask my psychatrist what I can do. I mean, I am not easily offended..but this..is like beyond ignorance. It's hate media.

They also have boards. You can try posting there, although the mod might come after you, and try to ban you. They claim this is an issue of freedom of speech. Which is really the stance most people who are ignorant about issues outside themselves take.

Maybe work on a letter writing campaign. I'd write a letter but I don't really know what to say. I mean, it has to be kind of polite, and when it comes to this sort of issue politeness is difficult.

Wow! I can't believe people actually thought this was "original." I thought that it was just more BS that NTs tend to create about "retards". The person who made it probably used to make fun of people like this growing up. And he's still doing it; by creating characters like them and making them look "violent", "scary", and "horrible." wait until some LFAs see this and get angry at him.

Sorry, but I do recall having a warning at the top of the thread that it was graphic. As well as Chiller being a horror film channel, uh...or did you miss that somehow?

Did you at least see enough to manage to understand the offensiveness of how stereotypical the mentally retarded character is?

Ok, sometimes people here miss things like that, and need it explained to them. It also was hard to tell if you meant it in a, my little brother saw it and you didn't tell me it was a blood-soaked fracas, lol.

In what way was the film demonising autistics? Toby wasn't autistic, he was mentally retarded, if he was autistic he wouldn't be reacting to the world around him.

Ok, I think your are in the minority here with that opnion though. I suppose you would be over-sensitive too, if you were accused of trying to start a school shooting when you were in high school, only because you weren't perfectly NT.

Well basically I was in Special Ed, and not social. So I must be some dangerous recluse, cause I wasn't out talking about wasting all my parents' money on prom. I also was Goth. Of course, being depressed apperantly was something that I also was responsible. Surely it wasn't the school's job to see to it that I see the school psychatrist. After all I wasn't failing, so they could just sit back and whine.
