I was sick from school a few days ago and I remembered watching TV:
The 700 Club show was on (I find religion very interesting) and they were talking about autism, which made it even more interesting to listen to.  And they called Autism a EPIDEMIC!!!



I wanted to murder my TV > : (

Pyros, don't listen to them - it's not an epidemic - it's just that it's becoming more diagnosed these days. It's just sensationalist journalism to say autism is an epidemic. A real epidemic would be something like the Spanish Flu in 1918-9, or the bubonic plague - something that kills a large proportion of people who get it. I'd have felt like throwing something at the TV too but I'd say the presenter was just parroting off a cliche.
