Since our DNA could be different from other humans, and we are possibly descendants of Neanderthals, is it possible that ASD's are actually a separate form of human.  And if for those with AS, (including me) do you believe that Asperger's is actually the next step in human evolution?
We're all humans.

End of story.
Compared to other species there is isn't much genetic variation in humans. Aspies are probably the result of only a few different genes. To answer your other question, evolution is unguided; there is no next step.
So you guys are telling me, that AS isn't a breakthrough?

Breakthrough implies that it's deliberate. Autism created itself entirely through random genetic interaction.

Besides which, we ain't better or worse - just different.

well it hasn't been proved but i hasnt been disproved personally it would be cool if aspies were a seperate type of human but then again that could have disastrous affects like limitations of human rights but it could also have a good affect oh well time will tell
