If there isn't one (I didn't find it) there should be. Black background and light gray text.

I don't know if any such option is in the works, but it would be fun to be able to choose from
several different color schemes, as one can do with the channel guide on the TV remote! Some of the color combinations are quite beautiful. *dreams...*
Well, I mean also that the predominantly white page is hard on the eyes. Although the forum uses off white, this little box we type replies into is RGB 255, 255, 255 = pure white.
Pure white on black is also a bit strong, see

Those vast expanses of white are a bit hard on my eyes too but I like the blues. Even a pale grey or pink or green in place of the white would be a little easier to read.
