Who likes Guy Fawkes night & why?
Who hates it & why?

I absolutely love it.Big Grin
I love fireworks...the bigger the better, the bonfire's, smells of autumn & woodsmoke.

In the nearest town, there is a lantern procession ( lanterns made out of wire & tissue paper by the local children & various help groups. ) These lanterns range from tiny to monsters many feet long & are lit by night lights.Cool

There is a huge bonfire on a small island on the loch, so the excellent fireworks are mirrored in the water.  A wonderful displayBig GrinBig Grin.

My cats don't seem to mind, nor the local dogs but they have all grown up with the sound of shotguns firing in the forest & at the gun club.Cool
I also want to selebrate guy-fork now.Cool
However there might be a small problem getting hold of the maple-sirup-stuff:/
i love bonfire night!!! the pumpkin soup the fireworks every thing
I used to like Guy Fawkes night when I was a kid, because it was a neighbourhood tradition before fireworks became illegal in Aus.

I don't like it now because usually I'm trying to sleep!
I love Guy Fawkes night!

We go to a display organised by our local scout troop. Most scouts escape with only minor injuries--non have been maimed or killed yet.Rolleyes
We usually eat piping hot mushy peas with mint sauce…while watching the display.Smile

This year my wife can’t attend the scout display as she’s had an operation on her leg which means she cannot stand for long periods. And so…Guess what! She’s agreed to letting me have fireworks in the garden. Yes…this forgetful, disorganised, haphazard man…is being let loose potentially harmful explosives.Rolleyes

I cut down a conifer earlier in the year so I’m also going to have a bonfire. The local fire brigade…will be on stand by.Big Grin

I haven’t decided on a Guy for the bonfire yet…It’ll all depend on which one of my children annoys me most on the day *evil laugh*. Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin

That's diabolical!!!

I've only known about Guy Fawkes since 2005 but I've thought about having a bonfire night just myself + a few but I've just postponed it. Maybe this year...
I am horribly phobic of fireworks, in fact fire in general and also loud noises are very painful for me.

Fortunately I have earplugs and have just ordered some industrial ear defenders which will arrive in the post today! I am actually quite excited about them! (Maybe I'm just weird.....)  Smile

I would rather call it "being rational". I'm also phobic about fireworks and loud noises. But fire? No.

Stupid question here... Are you afraid of small fires as well, such as a camp fire?

That's diabolical!!!

Just to clarify...I was only joking.

I just love doing bad things with fireworks.

Loading rockets into drainpipes, and firing them off my shoulder at whatever filthy little chavs happen to be congregating on the estate
