Okay, it was always my understanding that when you saw a statue, or an obelisk, or something decorative and beautiful with a plaque on it that read:
In Loving Memory of John Smith
that the intention was that the thing of beauty was dedicated in the memory of the deceased person.
Now, everywhere I go I see cars/trucks with stickers on them with the same type of message.  This makes me crazy!  I sympathize with the pain of losing a loved one, but advertising your loss on your CAR just seems to me disrespectful.  It's like "I dedicate this 10 year old Buick, with the rusty tailpipe and missing passenger window, to my dear Grandma Betty."
Doesn't Grandma Betty deserve a rose bush in a public park, or even a bench at the beach?
I just don't understand this new craze with publicizing personal tragedy.  Is this what our Jerry Springer culture has come to, or am I being overly critical?
No!!!
I definlty agree with you!
It seems to me like they just are found of publisity.Sad
