I told someone today that someone in my family is beeing tested for HFA and she exlaimed:
"But autists are not active people who talks"...

*speechless*
Nevertheless, I stand by my previous statement: Rain Man is one of the most accurate media depictions of autism.
Try having a look at some of the following:
Amelie
Bad Boy Bubby
Punch Drunk Love
...and maybe even "Revenge of the Nerds", though that could be stretching it. It's still the closest thing we've got to a political movie. *grins*

Personally, you can read my bio as to why I have abandoned "Asperger" and embraced "Autism," even though clinically I am in the Asperger camp. Needless to say, I have now jettisoned both for the sake of "Spectrum." I like spectrum's, rainbows, et al. "Spectrum" can include Autism, Asperger, and Neuro-typicals who move in to our camp, embracing our principles of freedom of expression and tolerance. The last group may be key to survival.
All the best, and I hope that this person comes back.
