They invested into turning the park into an archery (area? range?), and then they shut it down without even trying to solve the issue with a less drastic measure.  Either a) This story missed some steps the local government took (likely), or b) the local government was afraid of liability.  Tim, do you have any additional information on this story?
In norwegian the word for "hit" also means "meet", which is really funny when you joke about:

"Learn to shoot with a bow, and 'hit' new friends"

True true!
Same in Sweden. Heard about that just recently because of a slogan used in an ad for membership in a gun club. I was once told to hide behind a tree while my brother would shoot an arrow at it from the other side and when I looked out from behind it I got the arrow in the corner of my left eye. 10 days in the hospital with bandage over the eye. No harm to the eye, though.

I dont understand how that could not damage the eye...
I once layd under stocks of tree because my earlier friend asked me to to so that she could jump over me with her horse...the reason:she though maybe the horse would be scared to hurt me and jump more propperly,ie; a good exersise for the horse...
