Did not see LKS, but was aware of the starring actor, who is black and American. What is that brother's name? Winslow something ...?
I do not think it was a period-piece like MacBeth. I think the film's connection to its title is arbitrary, like other films whose title-relevance is revealed only after a full viewing. A lot of books are like that, too.

It's a terrible title and I think that hurt the movie's box-office.
BUT... Forrest Whitaker's performance as Idi Amin is one of the tow or three best by any American actor of the last decade. I was not hoping for him to win the oscar, but when I saw it -- oh my god, he so deserved it.

You've really got to understand Idi Amin to understand the title.
He was obsessed with Scotland and all things Scottish ;p coupled with his British Military Training, Zero Education and a genuine love of Murder made him quite dangerous to his own people and his immediate neighbors, he just -loved- tormenting Queen Elizabeth II.
