Wow! Those are really well done..I'm a doodler from way back. Smile

Hey, that's really cool! Lots of interesting details.

This is something I did in high school:

Thanks - I did that for a high school art project years ago.
Very good drawings there, Quickduck, and here's another doodle I did during a boring and interminable team meeting where I work...

Actually, I'm more of a list maker.

Tim
Very... interesting, quickduck.

I have a friend who draws like that. When he thinks of something, he draws it. Mostly comic strips but occasionally a rather strange picture he calls his "mind" filled with random shapes and squiggles.

I think he's autistic too, but he won't admit it.
The last time I did any sort of doodling was last year.

Tim
I tend to draw strange-looking eyes/faces on my notes when I am bored in class. People often comment about them when they notice, so I tend to only do it when I'm not sitting near other students.

(I think this is the first time I have shown any of my "creative side" on these forums)

Where do you draw the line between a more freeform piece of art on paper (no use of perspective, ineffective 3-dimensional modeling, only pen and pencil used) and just a random doodle?

Does a single drawing, out of any deliberate context, have artistic merit?

The medium I use is computer paper and pen and pencil, but I spend many hours on most of them, and would hate to think it's all "just doodling."
I love to doodle.

My school books were absolutely covered with random drawings. Usually of people and stuff.

My brother ended up with a crush on one of them.
It is a very pretty design - liked it a lot.
You are gifted.
Not silly at all quickduck.

Thoughtful and interesting Smile

Thank you Lucie...you're very kind.Smile
Actually the design also has a symbolic meaning; at the time I carved it I was interested in the idea of the human body as a microcosm of the universe; so the seven smaller holes represent the seven 'Chakras' found in yogic philosophy. And the three bigger holes represent a Shamanic idea of three interlocking planes of existance...silly really.Rolleyes

QD-I don't think it's silly at all..-lots of meaning..
I agree that you are gifted too.

curious-what did you do with the stone carved doodle?
and what would a carved doodle be called-a darving? a coodle?
Smile
(btw hope your birthday was happy!)

Wow Duckie! That carving is so cool. Must be really sweet to be able to do something like that and then pass it off as simply a "doodle".

I'd say it's much more than just that.

Very good Ducky!!!  Is it a random doodle or does it have some sort of meaning?

Looks like it could be a map of some sort Cool

Thanks Ethereal.Smile
Perhaps I should tell everyone its a map to buried treasure; then they'd spend years in a fruitless search trying to find it. LOL Big Grin
No, it's random really; but you could always give it a meaning if you like.
