But Yetti, did you not say that you had a very successful career without any intervention?

I believe Michael is right - employers should look to AS strengths, not try to mould AS into NT ways of working.

I think Michael is right they should look at their strengths but we all must come half way.. NTs and Aspies... its not one way or the other... we both have to learn to work together...

I am having major challenges seeing people hide their asperger's diagnosis and the ignorance of this NT world... Believe me... Asperger's is a major topic of my conversations... and I don't take guff from prejudice NTs.  I have proved myself so I hope to help other aspies get opportunties to succeed too...

"People with AS make great employee's"

My pet hate is the abuse of the apostrophe.

Let's face it, one of our main problems is that we're very capable, but the old NT pals act ensures that the incapable are placed in positions of authority at work.

Show how capable you are and you become a threat to their untenable position. Then they do everything they can, using their schoolyard bullying skills, to make your life a misery.

Unfortunately, we aspies need to be forced off sick or to change jobs several times before we learn the rules of the game, by which time career choices are limited.

I would like to say "rules are for fools" but one rule I have learnt is to know what can and can't be done to you. Most bullying is covert but whether it is subtle or not it is illegal.

Legal doesn't matter when a lot slides by with a wink and a nod.
