I had absolutely no idea, so I went to Wikipedia:

"Marshmallows were originally made with the eponymous marshmallow plant extract acting as a gelling agent."

I'm always shocked how easy it is to make things that you can buy in a box. I grew up on macNcheese from a box. a blue box. A year or two I wanted to try it out the "old fashioned" way... what, no powdered cheese? For shame!

It was delicious and now I can hardly stomach the powdery stuff. Smile  Not entirely true, I do still like the kraft, but I now have to add some real cheese...

so lame that I'm talking about the preperation of macNcheese...

mac cheese up make it with make it with one new differant cheese and two of your favorates. yummy.

I like it with more milk and less butter, certainly not as much butter as described on the box. ick.

I'm actually excited to learn about all the different sorts of coffee everyone takes here at AFF.

Now I know what a affogato is, sounds yummy.

i ont like coffee,smells funny.

Exactly what I thought when I finally tasted the real thing!

I will say from an aspie that doesn't always have a firm handle on time management, its a lot easier. If you overcook it, it doesn't get burnt. Well, it gets a litte too mooshy...  but add some pepper and its at least edible.

And the kids like it. you can buy it in different shapes- sponge bob, scooby doo...  kinda like the lure of alphabet soup when its really just chicken noodle with more clever noodles.

Wink

  but that's not true!  You just CAN'T cook pasta in the micro.

In America you have to have a special pasta-cooker saucepan that has the drainer right on it. It usually costs $30, but that's well worth it if you consider the cheapness of a 60 cent dinner. Smile

In the US we like to have a different appliance or apparatus for each type of meal. When we're done we don't wash them we just throw them away, its a lot easier than cleaning...

Smile  too fun.
{sigh} hubby cooked spaghetti tonight...

he used both saucepans and a frying pan. one to cook the pasta, one to cook the sauce and one to cook the meat...  he made an atrocious mess... and it involved a box of pasta and a bottle of sauce. I've never seen anyone make such a mess in my life! The man makes himself a bowl of cereal and you'd think someone put a granade in the cereal box. Smile

Though he did make it up by thoroughly cleaning the kitchen afterwards. I was shocked. Shocked... and delighted!

And the spaghetti was yummy.
